The catalina 2 is proposal for a new production catalina, originally a world war 2 flying boat, these airplanes proved sucesfull, operating in military use until the 1980s, and in civillian fire bomber service until the early 2000s. With many still flying as warbirds, This proposal, set to start production in 2029 will heavily upgrade the catalina/canso. Installing turboprop engines and heavily upgrading the flight controls and avionics. It’s set to be a competetor to the bombarider CL-415 “super scooper”. It is set to be sold in various roles such as: fire bombing, cargo, passenger, search and rescue, submarine hunting, and signal jamming.
