YAV-66G Super Bugger STOVL
NOW WITH LIMITED VSTOL/STOVL CAPABILITY!!! This series has foldable wings which permit traversion on rough terrain without harming wing structures. It also has increased wing aspect ratio, allowing it to be better controled at lower airspeeds. The ground engine had to be down-rated because it was going too fast for comfort! Now, it includes weaponry. Though it is significantly heavier, it is much faster! Controls: VTOL Lever: FWD/Reverse jet exhaust nozzles; Button 1: Car engine for ground operation; Button 2: Jet engine for air operation; Button 3: Wing fold; Button 4: Jet Exhaust Nozzle Enable/Disable; Button 5: Drogue Chutes for landing on aircraft carriers or short runways... Takeoff Method 1: Ensure wings are level: a zero dihedral angle is recommended. Buttons 1 & 2, VTOL Lever down all the way... Full throttle. There are no flaps. At 170 mph, pull the VTOL Lever down slightly, which vectors thrust slightly downwards, increasing lift. As you lift off, push Lever back down all the way to attain full forward-vectored thrust. Afterwards, disengage car engine. VTOL Takeoff Method 2: Hit buttons 2 and 4 to activate thrust. Throttle to 80%-100% while adjusting VTOL lever to exact pitch to allow balance during takeoff. Landing the aircraft: Approach can be made at full speed due to efficiency of thrust reversers upon landing, but lower speeds are recommended. Throttle to about 40 percent, VTOL between half and 1/4 full down. Flare nose just prior to touching deck while increasing throttle to 100 percent and bring VTOL Lever all the way to the top, reversing the nozzles and thereby reversing thrust. There are a couple different ways to land the aircraft, so experiment and have fun! Folding wings: Disengage Button 4 to lock STOVL thruster nozzles in place. Place VTOL Lever at zero +/-. Press button Button 3 to activate wing fold mechanism, while pushing VTOL Lever lever up to fold wings upwards. Do not fold downwards, as damage to vehicle may occur. Maximum speed: 400 mph at approximately 4,500 ft. The exhaust vector nozzles have been repositioned, and the elevators are bigger.
