The JS Akizuki (DD-115) is a destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). It's part of the Akizuki-class destroyers, which are primarily designed for air defense and anti-submarine warfare. The class is named after the Japanese destroyer Akizuki, which was active during World War II.

The Akizuki-class destroyers are equipped with advanced radar, missile systems, and other modern technology. They typically have a displacement of around 6,200 tons and are powered by gas turbines. These destroyers also carry the Aegis Combat System, which is known for its advanced radar and missile capabilities, allowing them to detect and intercept airborne threats effectively.
