CMD-82
The cargo door at the rear has an opening smaller than the door.
LORE:
The CMD-82 is a general-purpose cargo aircraft based off the McDonnell Douglas MD-82. It was chosen over the 737-400, A319, and MD-87 due to lower operating costs and sheer availability. In addition, the 737-400 and A319 had too high purchase and operating costs, and the MD-87 had too low capacity. The MD-82 was chosen and only the newest of planes were bought and converted. 15 from Delta, 8 from SAS, and 2 from American Airlines. All of which are scheduled to retire at exactly January 1st of 2025, 1200 hours (or exactly noon). If conditions permit, the MD-80s will stay in operation for even longer. All airframes are approaching 30 years of age, and have all been refurbished at least twice. The CMD-82s will be replaced with better A321neos, featuring a bigger range and payload. Avgeeks all over the world are starting to say goodbye to the beauties in advance.
