Custom Afterburning Turbofan
Mach Rings for days!
Hey everyone!
I wanted to make a custom engine for future builds and i think it turned out rather well, even if it's a bit heavy on part count and performance cost for a single engine.
So, what is the deal with this engine?
Well, it is an Afterburning Tubofan with Mach Rings and a custom nozzle, scaled to a 2x2 (Width x Height) Fuselage Block. It has 3 engines, a VTOL engine used for the Mach Rings, a Smoke-ish engine used when the Afterburner is not On, and an engine for the Afterburner itself. These are already coded for everything, but they all need to have their power multipliers tweaked to each plane you use it on.
Well, so how do you tweak it?
To make part of this easy, the VTOL Engine is exposed to make that easier, just go there to the PowerMultiplier and tweak it according to what you need, or if you want to tweak the code on it. The other two engines aren't as straight forward: they are inside that cone in the inside of the engine, so just hide a couple parts and you'll find them. The Smoke style engine is the one with the smaller exhaust scale, while the Afterburner one is the one with the bigger exhaust scale, a bit complicated, i know, apologies.
Now, when it comes to using it on a plane, i would suggest building the plane around it first. Why? Well, for some reason i can't wrap my mind around, the top-most VTOL Nozzle kept disconnecting when i was building this, and it can't be duplicated because well, it's basically centered. Granted, it could be fine on your end, but for me it was mildly annoying. I don't know if making it all a subassembly would also do that, feel free to try.
If you build the plane around this engine, it'll probably become a successor, but all i want is credit if you use it not points, i don't care about points at all, so if you feel like it, feel free to ask a mod to not make it a successor (i don't even know if that is a thing they do, but if it is, it's in bold so they can read that easier lol), because really, someone building an amazing plane with this thing that has like, 3 times the part count, does not deserve to be a successor to this post.

Max non-afterburning power (94% Throttle)
Full Afterburner (95%+ Throttle)
I also built a little 15min plane to show off the exhaust in flight. The plane is ugly, flies awfully, but it's just to show off
That's about it, hope you find a use for it!
