Fiat G.50 Freccia (Finnish)

3,073 Summby  3.3 years ago

History:

The G.50 saw its longest and most successful service in the two Finnish wars against the Soviet Union. During the Continuation War, the G.50s were most successful during the Finnish offensive of 1941. Finnish squadrons lost 41 aircraft of several types. But Fiat lost in combat were just three, with a ratio victory/loss of 33/1. Very impressive if you imagine that the enemy usually had more powerful aircraft and that the G.50 with the open cockpit was not designed for cold environment .

AG1 = Lights
VTOL = flaps
Fire Guns = 2x 12,7mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns

This is a low parts build with less then 200 parts, so that every device can handle it

If you want the aircraft to look more "historically correct" just paint the small blocks inside of the blue squares white :)

    I also agree with @Tang0five ,you shouldn't have your WW2 replica taken down from the site only because of the Swastika.For god's sake,replica is the build with the authentic shape,steering,engine power,weapons and authentic markings(whatever markings they are).

    I agree with you @Tang0five ,
    I was just a little worried because the swastikas are so big on this plane.
    I wanted to prevent the swastikas from being the focus here.
    So I left the decision up to each user.
    You can paint it back to the original look or leave it as it is.

    I agree with @Tang0five . Replica is replica.

    Why are people so afraid of making a replica with authentic markings? The Finns use of the swastika predates that of the Nazi party. We know this is a build replicating an aircraft in that era and does not represent the players beliefs - if it was an F14 with swastikas I’m sure I’d be asking question. It’s nice you’ve given that consideration I suppose but I’d say to hell with it - a replica is a replica after all.
