Bombardier CRJ-900(LR) Scandinavian Airlines - SAS
AI-friendly aircraft
How to make it operational:
Step 1: Download and save this aircraft to your collection
Step 2: Activate in-game AI air traffic in sandbox mode and wait patiently on the ground until the aircraft is spawned
If the aircraft is not spawning, remove decorative details such as lights, letters and numbers on the fuselage, then repeat the process again until the aircraft is spawned in your skies.
About the Aircraft: by Wikipedia
Canadair CL-600-2D24
The Bombardier CRJ900 is a twin-engine jet aircraft manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace in Canada. The aircraft type is based on the CRJ100/200 series and, like its predecessor, was designed for regional passenger traffic.
Following the great success they had with the CRJ100/CRJ200 series, Bombardier decided to begin production of larger variants of the same design to compete with aircraft types such as the Boeing 717, Boeing 737-600 and Embraer E-Jet series. The CRJ900 was developed together with the CRJ700. Available in CRJ550, -700, -900 and -1000 versions.
The CRJ900 is intended for 86–90 passengers in single-class configuration. The aircraft is powered by GE CF-348C5 jet engines, each producing 59.4 kN, and is also equipped with slats. The aircraft is loosely based on the CRJ200 series, but with significant improvements. The aircraft type has significantly improved climate control. The engines are controlled digitally rather than through a combination of mechanical and fuel delivery adjustments. The cabin floor has been lowered by 5 cm, which provides a better view of the passenger in the cabin, as the windows are now closer to eye level. The wingspan is larger and the tail has been redesigned and has a larger surface and is allotriomorphic. Cruising altitude is typically 8–10,000 feet higher than its predecessor, with slightly higher fuel consumption and a cruising speed of 450–500 knots – a significant improvement over its predecessor.
In North America, the CRJ900 is operated by Mesa Airlines, SkyWest, Northwest Airlink (Mesaba Airlines) and Delta Connection (Comair). The first CRJ900 aircraft (N901FJ) was actually a modified CRJ700, which was lengthened in two places – at the front and rear of the fuselage. The aircraft is permanently parked in Tucson, Arizona, and has only flown for testing purposes.
The CRJ900 partially competes with the Embraer 175 and, according to Bombardier, the CRJ900 is more economical to fly per seat kilometer, while the Embraer, on the other hand, has greater cargo capacity, range and a larger cabin.
As of June 2007, there were a total of 62 CRJ900 aircraft in service with various airlines, in addition to 49 on order. The largest users include Mesa Airlines (38 aircraft), SkyWest Airlines (17) and Mesaba Airlines (13).
Comair, flying under the name Delta Connection, ordered 14 CRJ900 aircraft, and at least 6 of these were in service as of November 2007. These are of particular interest because they are in a two-class configuration, with 12 first-class seats. and 64 seats in economy class. This is due to a limitation in Delta's contract with pilots, which limits regional flights to 76-seat aircraft.
In March 2008, Estonian Air ordered 3 new 90-seat CRJ900 NG aircraft. In the same month, SAS also ordered 13 of these.
The CRJ900 version can transport up to 90 passengers over a maximum distance of 3,660 km. Two General Electric CF34-8C51 are used as drives. The CRJ900 had its first flight on February 21, 2001. In addition to the basic version of this machine, variants with increased range (CRJ900ER and CRJ900LR) and a version for Europe with reduced takeoff mass were also offered. After initial difficulties selling the type, it became very popular following a large order from Lufthansa as its operating costs are lower than the competing Embraer 190 type. By mid-2008 there were more than 215 orders and more than 100 aircraft were already in use.
In May 2007, Bombardier announced the “NextGen” version of the CRJ900. The first machine was delivered in June 2007. Among other things, it received a new interior with larger windows, LED lighting and larger luggage racks. Maintenance costs are lower and fuel consumption drops by 4%. Improvements in the CRJ900 NextGen were later incorporated into the CRJ700 (from 2008) and CRJ1000 (from 2009) series.
The type designation of the CRJ900 according to the EASA data sheet (TCDS) is CL-600-2D24.
