Old Fashioned Mig-3
The inspiration for this plane came from the Flite Test MiG-3 kit, of which I have and could not get to take off more than three feet above the ground. I made this plane to be ultra-mobile friendly and perform well on the most lag plagued devices. It's an old plane of mine, dating back pre-update 1.8. Because of some positive feedback in testing, I've decided to make this plane public.
Controls
Normal aircraft controls:
Roll- Roll
Pitch- Pitch
Yaw- No Yaw, but turns rear tailwheel
It's got cardboard slab wings lol. This was from when I built all my planes with custom gear and a decent fuselage but stuck with the default wings. I've got a Su-57 knockoff that uses this same technique. I also had no idea what the blueprint designer suite mod was.
Thanks to MisterT for Stork Island, and Mikoyanster for Aero Club!

BTW all my images from now on are from PostImg.cc, Imgur's too unreliable.
If you don't already have Stork Island, get it! It's great for screenshots and the racetrack is good multiplayer fun!
Taking off from Beachland Airport runway
Aero Club is another one of my favorite screenshot maps. It consists of several islands that are all different in looks and terrain, making it great for interesting screenshots.

Now with Reshade!
Just a side note, with the recent controversy over rankings, upvotes, and build quality, I'm asking that the comments section doesn't turn into a warzone over this build. Also, if you've seen my most recent forums post, you'll notice I also have a cartoonish P-40. If you all really want me to I'll post that too. Feel free to customize this plane as much as you want, I've already seen one that has a green/brown camo scheme. Please enjoy this old, simple build!

@BagelPlane hmm it must have been your CG. also, the MiG-3 wasn't a beginner plane, so it must have been hard to control. my first rc plane was the Tiny Trainer and it was great. i even crashed it from like 20 feet and it still flies.
@FireFast212 Throttled it up 3/4, gave it toss and it flew. Sorta. It would fly, but never for more than 3-4 seconds as it would be sent into the ground.
@BagelPlane what did you do
@FireFast212 I think I just suck at flying it lol
your CG must have been off for the RC MiG
@BagelPlane yeah, but even if you can control yaw, you still dont have the pedals. Cool joystick tho
@UltraLight I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, it can control all functions.
@BagelPlane lol mobile controls are nice, I have a tablet so the screen is big and my inputs can be precise. At some point in the next few months ima buy MFS2020 and then save up shoveling driveways until I can buy a joystick, then a throttle, then rudders.
@UltraLight It’s only for PC, probably because there are multiple airplanes flying around and some mobile devices can only handle one. I don’t know how you all fly with mobile controls, I need my joystick controller or I’m screwed.
@BagelPlane lol that's really complex. And I cant even hit the planes, much less aim for the prop. Also, idk where the WWII dogfight is, it might be a computer thing.
@UltraLight The planes in the WWII Dogfight are P-51s with 5 propellers, 2 wing guns, and a minigun. The best strategy, from my experience, is once the AI has passed you, roll 90 degrees and pull a 180 turn. The AI should get farther away for a few seconds, and in that window, you pull around the rest of the way and open up on the guns from around a mile away. Because the P-51 has a tight turn radius, it will continue up for a slight time, and then come right at you. Wait until it is 0.2 miles out, and duck down. Then roll 90, pitch 180, check the distance, complete the loop and open up on your guns. Shooting the prop is most beneficial as the aircraft loses thrust, and you can put distance between it and then line up for a good shot. However, the P-51 can still fly pretty well missing part of one wing. Hope this helps!
@BagelPlane wait! How lol. I usually go in a circle, then randomly roll 90-180 degrees and continue pulling up. Better way? Also, you weaponized the P-51, right?
@UltraLight Sounds like fun! I’ve been doing the PC WWII dogfight challenge a lot, the Jundroo P-51 is a good match for this aircraft. However, I’ve gotten familiar with the AI’s dogfight patterns and know where to turn to get on their six.
I was dogfighting the AI for like 20 minutes, me were too even of a match and we fought until we hit each other xd
This deserves more support!
@BuiltBionixInd10 no no no no no no
yeet bois
Very RC looking, love it
Very epic may or may not have copied your style and made it much worse cant fly though because I XML edited the weight out of it stupid name
oops I forgot to spotlight!
I have a FT MiG-3, and getting it to get 3 feet off the ground is one of the biggest achievements of my life. Flies great now tho.
@BagelPlane
Indeed
@KnightOfRen Oh great another comment chain.
I hope this doesn't become a warzone for your sake. I know the experience personally and it sucks.
Nice!
