Overview

The DRA-49F Osiris II, nicknamed "The Judge," is a Lykanian 5th generation, air superiority, stealth fighter. Designed to dominate, the Osiris II is capable of holding its ground against some of Novara's fiercest fighters, rivaling aircraft like the Koltobanian LAF-52 or Ruskovian Foxstall. Leading the spearhead of the LKAF, the Osiris II is equipped with Lykania's most up-to-date technology, rendering even the tech found in the Nyx II, Lykania's other 5th-generation fighter, nearly obsolete. The Osiris II is also capable of wielding Lykania's deadliest missiles, like the LIMR-7 "Sentinel" or LIMD-11 "Archer." These feats truly allow the Osiris to live up to its name, claiming its spot as the judge of the sky.

Background and Development

The Osiris II was created as a response to the wave of fighter aircraft that was created between 1990 and 2020, in which various nations across Novara suddenly began producing their own domestic fighters. The Osiris II was created from the foundation of the original Osiris, the DRA-47. While the 47's stealth was effective, it lacked engine power, maneuverability and, most importantly, a deadly payload. The Osiris II answered all of these issues. It was made slightly larger to allow for more weaponry. It's engine power output was nearly doubled while thrust vectoring control and large control surfaces allowed the Osiris II to be highly maneuverable. All of this was achieved without a single drop in stealth effectiveness.

Operational History

The Osiris II finally entered service with the LKAF in 2017, with the first batch of 45 being delivered. It would first see combat during the 2023 Cascadian Uprising, where it would be deployed extensively alongside its sister, the Nyx II, against rebel fighter aircraft from Liberty Bay. It would also serve as escorts for DRA-70B Valkyrie bombers on their missions deep into Libertine territory. One particular story was of pilot Kassia Hofferson, a 27-year-old Lykanian pilot who was able to fend off a squadron of 3 MiG-29s by herself after her wingman, who was piloting an older Lykanian F-16, was shot down. She was able to bring down 2 of the Fulcrum fighters, forcing the third to retreat. Her Osiris II suffered nothing more than a few scratches.

Gameplay

I frickin' love this thing. I've said it before, but this is my best build to date. Let's consider this my gold special lmao. So I decided to redesign my original Osiris as part of my Revamp and Optimize Era. I did go 300 parts over the original part count, which was 200, but it was 300 parts well spent. It flies better, looks better, and best of all, it fights better. Due to the PSM pieces, it does get a bit wonky to dogfight under 250mph, but you shouldn't be moving that slow to begin with lol. But yeah, there's nothing too complex about this. It's just my take on the F-22 for my fictional country. I was finally able to incorporate some of my missiles. The LIMR-7 is supposed to be Lykania's AIM-120. It works best from range and has really good homing. The LIMD-11 works just like a Guardian. Keep the target locked and it'll hit. But yeah, that's basically everything. Have fun with The Judge lol.
