Overview
The MRNS Kaori Miyazono (LPD-090), or known with her nickname as MRNS Kaori or just Kaori (Lit: Fragnance) is the third class of the Katori-class Landing Platform Dock, or the Assault Landing Ship of the Monarchii Royal Navy. It is one of the known Monarchiians fleet which is still surviving while the other rest were went mysteriously vanished during the post-Monarchii War and nobody knows why. She and the rest of the remaining fleets regrouped and joined the MDA Force and reside in Sky Park Island.
Overview - Katori-class amphibious transport dock
The Katori-class is a class of amphibious transport docks, also called a "landing platform dock" (LPD), used by the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF). These warships are intended to replacing the Osumi-class tank landing ships that have been aging.
A Japanese assault landing ship built on the foundation of modern military transport vessels. It is capable of launching unmanned attack craft and conducting active combat operations using offensive weapons.
One other notable feature of the Katori is its two RG-32 Mk2 railguns. These are scaled-down versions of the RG-32 Mk1, a very rare railgun with an extremely limited amount. Only four known copies of the cannon exist in the world. With its railguns, the Katori can deal major damage to enemies that cannot be countered by flares. The downside of this cannon is that it has very slow turning speed.
Unlike the most of Landing Platform Docks like the United States San Antonio-class LPD, the Katori-class is pretty much smaller than her other counterparts. This makes the Katori can only capable to carry a handful of Amphibious Personnel Carriers (APCs) and Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACVs), and lacking of ability to transport a large scale of ground force support like the LCAC loaded with ground combat vehicles. And lack of aircraft hangar and undersized landing pads, this also makes the Katori can just bring only up to 2 medium sized naval helicopters. This is also due to the US-Japan treaty to forbids some offensive weapons being operated in Japan.
History
Monarchii/TB-War lore
MRNS Kaori Miyazono is the third class of the Monarchii Katori-class Amphibious Transport Dock or Assault Landing Ship. She is a landing ship along with the known amphibious assault ships of Monarchii Royal Navy such as the Monarchii Makassar-class LPD, Solyeil-class LPH and the Noshvorshyik/Ivan Rogov-class LPD/LST.
As a landing platform dock, she is used in some amphibious assault mission to transport and deploy a handful of land troops and amphibious personnel carriers via naval route. But the most interesting thing about it is its special ability: the ship can also be used to launch some mini ships such as midget submarine or combat boat inside her well deck, one of the example is an unmanned submarine called the Type 101 UUV.
Junior Officer Misaki Sakai (Yes, I literally stole this straight up from Modern Warships so why not?)
She is captained by Junior Officer Misaki Sakai, a Female captain who commands the sea with valor and grace.
TB-War debut, the Monarchii Fleet
The known Monarchii fleet left which is managed to survived. The Assault Landing Ship Kaori Miyazono, helicopter carrier Sumire Uesaka, and supercarrier Tsuchii Yussha pre-Siren War. Currently joined in both MDA and Sky Park fleet
The last remaining Monarchii fleet left during the unknown phenomenon where the Monarchiians including the Whimsy him/herself were mysteriously vanished during post-monarchii war are decided to regroup and joined both MDA and Sky Park Fleet. Kaori then deployed and participated in TB-War to serve the MDA and their allies to fight against the rogue, hostile T.B. Force.
Notable crews:
- Junior Officer Misaki Sakai - The captain of MRNS Kaori Miyazono.
- Lindsey Norman (TAC name: Linus) - A volunteer helicopter pilot who is piloting one of the Kaori's helicopter.

Real world lore - JS Katori (LPD-088)
JS Katori was built by Japan Marine United Corporation in Yokohama, the 267-length, 39-width, & 70,000-ton vessel was launched on 13 March 2034, and christened one week later. It had been scheduled to be commissioned on 17 August 2033, but was delayed by poor performance at the Maizuru Naval arsenal, which resulted in it being towed from Yokohama to the Mitsubishi Shipbuilding at Nagasaki, in April 2036 for completion. The ship was unable to move under its own power at that time, despite having been christened more than a year earlier.
She was finally commissioned 4 July 2037, at Yokosuka Naval base, Tokyo. The ship classes are intended to replace the aging Osumi-class tank landing ships.

- Requires lock on target, fire and forget.
- LAlt = Launch missile
Anti-Air Missile controls (RIM-161 Block IIB)
- Requires lock on target, radar-controlled, must be keep selected or locked to the target until hit.
- LAlt = Launch missile
Cannon controls:
- VTOL = Rotate left/right.
- Trim = Aim up/down.
- LAlt = Fire.
Autocannon/PLSL controls:
- PLSL has an amazing accuracy and velocity. Capable to strike your target from afar.
- Automatically aim at your target.
- LAlt = Fire.
Depth charge/grenade launcher controls
- Manually controlled, will be delay for few seconds once fully fired.
- VTOL = Rotate left/right.
- Trim = Aim up/down.
- LAlt = Fire.
Pantsir-ME controls
- The Pantsir-ME is a multi-purpose air defense system that can fires bullets and missiles. The missile requires lock on target to be fired.
- Automatically aim at your target.
- Spacebar = Fire CIWS.
- LAlt = Launch AA missile (must lock-on target).
Helicopter control
- Helicopter is hard to control and having a weird, Modern Warships-like camera angle. Try to get used to the controls then you will be more comfortable with the controls
Helicopter armament - SH-60 Seahawk
Main gun = M134 Minigun (Deals high damage to any ground targets).
Helicopter armament - SV-22 Osprey
- The Osprey features the VTOL mode.
Main gun = GAU-17 (Deals high damage to any ground targets).
Secondary armaments = Depth charges (drops 2 projectiles with devastating damage to below, needs cooldown before can be used again).
Startup
- AG7 = Turn on engine, disable/enable the vessel system, control the aircraft.
- AG2 = Deploy SH-60 Seahawk.
- AG3 = Deploy SV-22 Osprey.
CAUTION! When flying, do not turn off the engine at the mid-air or your helicopter will lose control and falling down.
Take-off
- Full throttle.
- Once it is high enough, set the throttle below 60 or 50.
- Your helicopter should go airborne now, if the heli keeps going up you'll have to play with the throttle as well to create some balance (for hovering).
Controls
- Normal flight control.
- Throttle 50 = Fly low/hover.
- Throttle 20 below = Go down.
- Full throttle = Go up.
- Spacebar = Fire guns.
Special
- Landing Gear = SV-22 VTOL

- Landing Gear down = Enable VTOL
DISCLAIMER! The usage of all of the aircraft is SINGLE USE. It is not possible to land your aircraft back to the ship. Once you're done with it, you have to either leave them away or "sacrifice" it.
Unmanned Underwater Vessel controls
- The UUV, or the Unmanned Underwater Vessel is an unmanned midget submarine for detecting and striking enemy targets. It can fires torpedo-like projectiles straight to the target, it can also be utilized for kamikaze or loitering munition.
Startup
- AG7 = Open bay door, disable/enable the vessel system.
- AG1 = Deploy the UUV, activate the UUV control
Controls
- Throttle = Move forward.
- Brake = Brake.
- S = Reverse (set throttle to 0 first).
- A & D = Turn left & right.
Deploy
- Move in reverse until fully comes out
- Set throttle to 100% to go forward
- Control like normal
Sometimes the sub can actually get stuck and unmovable. If that happened, set the VTOL down by half and then put back to normal.
Submerge/surface
- VTOL Down = Submerge.
- VTOL Up = Surfacing.
WARNING! Do not BRAKE while diving. Just a minor issue, it will make the midget sub to be stoppie and it is just really weird. You can only brake while surfacing to prevent stoppie.
DISCLAIMER! You can't shoot while underwater. You can shoot only while surfacing.
Attack
Spacebar = Fire torpedo/projectile.
To initiate kamikaze attack, just simply crash your sub into your target.
This has between 50-70 percent chance to goes explode, because sometimes the warhead didn't detonate in contact by somehow..
It is actually possible to recall and put the midget submarine back inside the well deck again, but it is really hard to do due to the mini ship always drifting around the water. The midget submarine can be used anytime, unlike the helicopters that can only be used for single use.
Recall
- You can see the green glowing magnet thing inside the well deck.
- Make sure both AG1 & AG7 is still active.
- Get inside the well deck. It is not as easy as you think literally.
- Adjust your sub with the glowing object
- If it feels right, immediately press AG1 to "catch" the sub. The sub will be attached to the magnet or the glowing object and the midget submarine control is no longer active.
- Close the bay door by pressing AG7. The midget submarine will remains inside and completely disabled, enabling back the main vessel control.
- It can be released again anytime by repeating the process. press AG7 and AG1 again and control the midget submarine like normal.
