I found this airplane at the bottom of my saved aircraft list. Apparently, I built it just over 6 months ago. So I updated the landing gear and splashed some paint on it. Here it is.

Features:

1x .30 cal ShKAS machine gun
20x RS-82 rockets under outer wings

History:
I had to do some serious digging to find this info. In early 1945, a single Yak-6 was field modified to carry up to twenty RS-82 rockets in preparation for the assault on Berlin; it was then known as the "Flying Katyusha." Because the extra racks and mountings created a decrease in performance, every possibility to improve the aircraft performance was taken. The defensive .30 cal ShKAS was deleted, the cargo door at the rear was removed and covered over, and the retraction mechanism for the landing gear was also deleted. When the Berlin assault came, the aircraft was used successfully in the support role against Nazi flak emplacements, light tanks, MG nests, trenches, and building demolition. No more information has survived.

No photos or illustrations have been found of this specific airplane.
