StartUp Procedure and Regular Flight
- Activate AG1, marked "ES" on the control panel, located under the EUFD screen, (Panel Screen).
- slowly increase Throttle (VTOL Slider) to at least 50%, up to 100% carrying a load. For VR, it is a lever located center of the cockpit, closest to the control console.
- Slowly increase Collective (Throttle). For VR it a lever located either one the left or right side of the cockpit depending on pilot placement. The Craft will begin to hover.
- Yaw control is control is a lever behind the throttle lever. This is for ease of flight during VR use. This is important as Helicopters tend to Nose to the Right during takeoff. VR you can lightly apply Yaw, for Mobile an Desktop user, simple feather the controls.
- Throttle doesn't need to be adjusted during flight, your main control will be Collective, Throttle, Yaw as well as any controls with the Cyclic (Stick).
- Recommended maximum Pitch for forward flight is 30 Degree
Description
This is a simple straight forward helicopter. Inspired by a design I made a long time ago, the original "OH" was designed as a VTOL for exploring the hard to reach places in Simple Planes as an Observation Craft. This model fills the same purpose, but I wanted something flexible and easy to fly, and could be used for a variety of roles. Not because I want to show off my building prowess by making a really good helicopter, but because I am lazy and building one design that is good enough is easier than building many specialized ones. Also, it's a training helicopter designed to help me learn the basics of rotary wing aviation. The control panels are borrowed from my TH-3 SKIP, and I kept the weapons interface Incase someone wants to turn it into a gunship. I have a gunship version I'll upload at some point. After being stagnant for a year, I figured why not upload something.
