Thanks to @wheatfield90 for the original NAMC YS-11 China Airlines ordered two in the 1960s to replace the original DC-3 fleet

The first (B-156) entered service in late 1969 and the second (B-158) entered service in 1970

They are the 2110 and 2130 machines with production serial numbers

Mainly serving domestic flights Taipei Hualien and Taipei Kaohsiung routes

However, the YS-11 numbered B-156 crashed unexpectedly in less than a year of service

On August 12, 1970, B-156 was on flight flight CI206 from Hualien to Taipei

Suspected to be due to bad weather, unfortunately crashed on landing

(One theory is that it crashed directly into the mountain, and another theory is that it crashed into the eaves of the Grand Hotel and then lost control and crashed into the mountain)

14 of the crew and passengers on the plane were killed and 17 survived

Flight 208 hovered in the air for nearly two hours because the nose wheel could not be put down, before making an emergency landing at Taipei Airport.
