The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was an American heavy bomber, designed by Consolidated Aircraft. Often compared with the better-known Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, the B-24 was a more modern design with a higher top speed, greater range, and a heavier bomb load; it was also more difficult to fly, with heavy control forces and poor formation-flying characteristics.
The B-24's spacious, slab-sided fuselage (which earned the aircraft the nickname "Flying Boxcar") was built around a central bomb bay that could accommodate up to 8,000 pounds of ordnance in each of its forward and aft compartments. Like the B-17, the B-24 had an array of .50 caliber (12.7 mm) M2 Browning machine guns in the tail, belly, top, sides and nose to defend it from attacking enemy fighters. However, unlike the B-17, the B-24’s ball turret could be retracted into the fuselage.
It's been awhile since I posted a plane; mainly because I've been busy with work and have been constantly tweaking this bomber to perfection. It is among my best looking replicas and is chock full of bells and whistles.
This heavy bomber sports three rotating gun turrets (four total), retractable landing gear, fully functional bomb-bay doors, and 20 bombs! It has a cruising speed of 200mph and tight controls.
When dropped, the bombs fall in a neat linear spread ensuring optimal probability of target destruction. You can drop each volley of bombs separately or in quick succession for maximum carnage!
Pull back gently on the stick to get airborne. Try to make contact with all three gear simultaneously when landing (or you'll land on the malfunctioning belly turret and crash!!!).
This B-24 is truly a joy to fly! Can you successfully cripple the enemy’s airfield on the nor
