Baroudeur SE 5000
Hello all!! I've been working on updating my computer to a newer model. I'm having some bugs with my photo editing software so no screenshots, but I hope you enjoy this build while I get my PC sorted.
The Wiki
The SNCASE S.E.5000 Baroudeur was a French single-engined lightweight fighter designed by SNCASE (Sud-Est) for the NATO NBMR-1 "Light Weight Strike Fighter" competition. An unusual design without a conventional landing gear, it used a wheeled trolley for take-off and three retractable skids to land. The Baroudeur did not enter production.
The rationale behind the design was to operate tactical jet interceptors from unprepared sites in case the air force bases were destroyed in a preemptive strike (drawing from the German experience in the last stages of World War II). It used a wheeled trolley that could be used for take off from grass, and three retractable skids (the third at the tail for landing) for take off from snow- or ice-covered surfaces.
Flight Controls
-Standard SP flight controls
-VTOL for Flaps
-G to Deploy Landing Skis
-Ag1 to Disconnect Take-Off Trolley
-Ag2 to Drop Fuel Tanks
-Ag3 to Deploy Drag Chute
Features:
-Custom Cockpit
-Custom Takeoff Trolley
For Takeoff: Throttle up to about 50% and deploy flaps to 50%. Once speed is over 150MPH, press Ag1 to disconnect from trolley and pull up. Retract flaps and increase throttle to desired speed.
For Landing: Reduce speed to below 200mph, but above 150mph. deploy flaps as needed and press G to deploy skis. Press Ag3 for drag chute just before touchdown, and cut throttle til stop.
As Always
A neat Interceptor Concept out of France. I really liked the trolley idea, and I think it works pretty well on this model. As always, please let me know if you have suggestions for improvements or if there is a vehicle you would like to see recreated. Thank you so much for stopping by to look, and enjoy your flight!!
