The most powerful and fastest naval weapon in Japan, the East Ship Sanada Maru, was built in the distant French Empire in the 19th year of the 1860s and delivered to the American Empire in the following year. In the Meiji Year 1 (1868), it was sold at a low price to the Japanese government forces by the American Empire, and later became part of the Mito Domain's Uraga Naval Forces and named... Sanada Maru.Armed with two British-made Whitehead torpedoes and four single-mounted cannons, its full speed under engine and sails is 14.5 knots. The ship has made outstanding military achievements and was decommissioned in 1871 as a maritime aid ship to take on the responsibility of supporting the Empire's maritime rescue services.
