Sukhoi-Gurevich is back from the dead!
The SiG-56AS "Strike Zone" is a highly manouverable and fast Russian fighter. It boasts very aerodynamic design with barely any drag and 2 very powerful and relaible turbofan jet engines. It comes equipped with 2 20mm machine guns and 6 Interceltor LRAAMs.
Development: In 2013, Russia was needing a replacement for the aging SU27 lineup if jets. Sukhoi-Gurevich was up to the task and started designing a cheaper, more relaible and more effective plane that could use the same manoufactufing plants as the old SUs. In 2016, the first functional prototype of the final product was unveiled. In 2017 it entered service.
