AV-4 MK III Brigand

The Brigand represented an act of desparation by the nation that employed it. Indeed, had the enemy gotten any reliable intel on the aircraft, they would have known just how dangerous it was to fly. In an attempt to squeeze out as much performance as they could, restricted by the power of the engine, George Macmillan decided it was best to make the aicraft as small and light as possible. This gave it superb maneuvering capabilities and an unrivaled rate of climb, but all other luxuries and comforts had to be done away with, including such things as landing gear and a pressurized cockpit. It was armed with only a single gun, which, while powerful, had a limited ammount of ammo. The aircraft's small size precluded it from being flown by any but the smallest pilots, and the stress from flying the plane was enough to wear even the hardiest of crews down.

The aircraft is a hybrid, combining jet and rocket engines. In it's standard flight mode, the rockets are left inactive. It's relatively weak engine is powerful enough to keep it at transonic speeds (depending on the altitude). As usual, AG-1 will activate the booster, which will devour your fuel. It will also activate a clock (stolen from BaconAircraft). AG-2 will take the gun off "safe". It's light weight and high thrust to weight ratio will let it perform adequately at high altitudes.

I will be creating carriers and launchers for the airplane at a later time. If you'd like a version without the pilot, let me know and I'll post that.

Enjoy!
