Gen 4 Stock Car
the greatest motorsport in north america
history of NASCAR
The National association of stock car auto racing was created in 1949, headed by Big Bill France Sr. Before the official formation however, racing was a prominent thing, and was a contest between bootleggers during prohibition to see who was the best at tuning their car to out run the police. The legendary Daytona beach race came out of this era of NASCAR. By the end of the 50s the official Daytona International Speedway was built. A massive 2 1/2 mile track with high banking made it one of the fastest tracks on the NASCAR schedule and being one of the deadliest.
Many people in NASCAR died in accidents on tracks as no safety devices were ever implemented. One of the last deaths to ever happen in NASCAR was the passing of Dale Ernheart Sr. at Daytona. After the loss of the intimidator, NASCAR mandated the use of the HANS device, or head and neck support device, to help protect the driver from any head or neck injuries. The current nascar season is the first where the new Next Gen car is in use and has proved to be some of the most exciting racing in recent years.
the aero wars
With the addition of the gen 4 car, a team vs. team battle ensued to see who can make the most areodynamiclly perfect car. NASCAR at the time did not regulate the body shape so there was some flexibility to make it create more downforce and sideforce. The aero wars was a very costly era of NASCAR and meant that smaller teams often had now chance at out running the better set up larger team cars. By the addition of the "Car of Tomorrow", the aero wars were shut down by NASCAR and the bodys were more closely checked.
controls
Pitch- forward and reverse
Roll- left and right
Brake- brake
Builders note: This is one of my favorite cars that i have built and really like how it turned out! I wish i could have gotten a bit more detail out of it, but my device wasn't going to take more. I've got some wings on it to help give if some downforce and sideforce so it can hang around the oval office well.
The livery is left pretty bear on purpose as i would love to see what the community can make out of it. I've molded the seat as it would be irl, as they are custom made to fit the driver, and its got a full rollcage which is one of my first real attempts at one and it looks so good. Really proud of how it turned out, especially considering i didn't use any blueprints, just reference images. Hope you enjoy!
keep looking to the stars

Well Indycar does rely more on driver skill than F1 because F1 is all about “big money go brrrr.” So it kinda is better lol @Star737
@UraniumOxide Better than F1 (pls don't get angery)
@PapaKernels Wait wrong reply :/
@Star737 anger scream insues 😂. But i do agree with you, F1 is the prim and proper motorsport, NASCAR is the redneck, deep south hell hole of motorsports lol
@PapaKernels Better than F1 (pls don't get angery)
@UraniumOxide lol, thanks!
Greatest motorsport in America? laughs in Indycar. But seriously, this is really cool!
@Flewey lol, NASCAR always races in the day or if its at night they got the stadium lights so, yea, they get to have stickers
Race cars don't need headlights
@PapaKernels yea it’s a shame really but it’s what it is
@Star737 yea i hear a bunch of people saying that with the gen 6 lol. My family is nascar centric so we had to watch it every sunday, and it was still fun to watch sometimes. Thanks for the updoot and kind words! Definitely not many NASCAR fans in the sp community
Bruh I haven’t seen someone built a NASCAR stock car so good in Simpleplanes, until this. Great build. I stopped watching NASCAR in 2010s, but after the introduction of Gen7, which it now produces good racing, I watch NASCAR again.
@Soulless_Reaper lol i was thinking of it but its a bit to complex.
Yea that does look like a gen 4 I’m kinda and not surprised no one has made a gen 6 car yet
Doesn't explode when i tap a wall at 20mph, fake.
@Musraskrois lol yep!
@PapaKernels What did you forget lol? Oh i see now. All good and thank you for letting me try her before release!
@Musraskrois she did lol! Thanks for the updoot buddy! Oh hey i forgot something!
