Aerostyle Aviation Model 880-025
Notes
-Very fun to fly
-Put trim halfway between the first and second bars down for best flight (unless you use auto-pilot)
Controls
-Action Group 8: Toggle nose drop (VTOL down to lower, VTOL to neutral to raise)
Designed in late 1960 as an SST, the Aerostyle Aviation Model 880-025, known in the company as Project Venus, was a private venture to bring American companies a supersonic aircraft capable of beating the Concorde. While it could only hold 246 passengers, less than Boeing’s 2707 design, the Model 880 had a greater range, better fuel economy, and overall greater passenger comfort. It also had an easier to use system for the pilots and better cabin layout for flight attendants and maintenance crews alike. A single flight-worthy prototype was completed in May 1963, and the first flight test was flown on September 5th of that same year. During the construction of the second prototype, the US military intervened and took over the project. The future of the program remains classified, but a wooden mockup of the Model 880 was put on display in the Aerostyle Aviation Archives civilian area in 2006. Discovered later on in the archives was a plan to build an even bigger SST, named Project Iris, which would have been nearly three times the size of the Model 880 and go over four times as fast, and could have made a flight from London to Los Angeles in under an hour.

@KerlonceauxIndustries sweet! Can't wait to see it!
@KerlonceauxIndustries I do. I started work on it and will be continuing work shortly. I'm currently finishing up a project that I'll upload in a day or two.
@KerlonceauxIndustries sure!
@KerlonceauxIndustries Yeah that's what I'm planning
The US military most likely took over the project because they saw the potential for a long range supersonic nuclear srtike bomber.
It would have been nice to see this airliner see fruition.
beautiful
