Story
The Steadfast MK.III was the most renowned by it’s pilots, but only the elite got to fly the trickery plane. It was developed between the prospering Pompeii aviation company and the now established Kelley aviation company. The Kelley Aviation Company worked on the main design, but could not perfect it so they called in Pompeii. Pompeii was able to pinpoint the problem to the wings, but no matter how hard they tried, they could not fix the problem. They, however, still managed to circumvent it by adjusting the stabilization fin size. The craft was flown over the sunny hills of Irlace and found to handle well when going straight. However: the massive control surfaces on the wings let the |beep| thing roll so fast, that combined with a nice pull, the test pilot instantly was hooked on it’s feeling and reported that the thing was not the fastest, but acted like a hummingbird in the turns. So: It became a turn fighter.
It first saw combat a month after it’s first flight: Enemy fighters poured in from the east. Instead of doing a normal thing of hiding, they gave the enemies a good surprise: when they approached their factory, 204 MK.Is flew out like a storm of angry bees. They got 137 of the 175 fighters. It, by definition, was a baptism by fire. When the Iosian president heard about this, he immediately called up 2000 of them to be made. Over the course of the war, four marks were made.
