KV-1(ZiS-5)
I am glad to present to your attention the KV-1 with the ZiS-5 cannon, which I finally remade after 3 years. I spent several nights without sleep on its preparation, and several times I was forced to inspect such a tank personally in person. So I hope you will like it
History
The creation of this tank began in 1939. Initially, the KV model was a lightweight single-turret variation of the Soviet SMK tank, but later became the main one. KV, being relevant up to 1943, went through the entire war, helped the USSR and the Allies to defeat fascism and served as the basis for further development of the USSR tank building

Construction
The tank had an excellent reservation for that time. 80 millimeters in the forehead of the hull and turret, 40 millimeters on the sides. Thanks to the turn of the hull, the KV-1 could not penetrate almost any German gun. Also in 1941 , the tank began to be equipped with additional 25 mm armor plates. And it made possible to use the tank as an assault
Weapon
Initially, the KV-1 was equipped with the L-11 cannon. But in the autumn of 1941, this firepower was not enough, so it was decided to install a ZiS-5 gun with an elongated barrel. This was enough to defeat German tanks at a longer distance
Mobility
At different periods, the tank was equipped with different engines. At first it was the engine of the Kharkov plant, and later the M-17T engine. However, what about the fact that in another case the tank confidently accelerated to 40 km/h

@Tetrodotoxin, may be. But in the archives, this photograph is signed as "KV-1 with the ZiS-5 system. Autumn 1941." Maybe it's some kind of experimental version? In any case, I'm glad you liked it
you actually pinned a photo of KV-1 with 57mm cannon. Still amazing work tho
@CKKI Ricochet!
@JustLookingForFriends, but you said about Soviet technology in general. In 1939, the world was different, as well as the country, which, by the way, at that time was not very different from Poland. The USSR existed for less than 20 years and did not have much time to do anything
@CKKI I was referring to the Baltic states, Hungary, Poland, and Romania... In 1939...
@JustLookingForFriends, well, I agree here, NATO countries are really extremely micro-armed countries. You are truly an expert! May I know if you have a profession? I would gladly invite such an employee to my place, but I'm afraid they will refuse you
@CKKI Because A) they made literal tens of thousands of everything, and B) most of the countries it fought had micro militaries.
@JustLookingForFriends, well, I won't argue. Surely you are an expert in this field with vast experience. I won’t even ask why, if the technologies of the USSR are so bad, the vast majority of countries in many ways uncompromisingly lost to them. All the best, buddy
@CKKI The KV series was a shit tank, as were all of the USSR'S designs for about 99% of everything.
@JustLookingForFriends nevertheless, the war was won not on the Tigers, but, including, on the KV
This tank was absolute cannon fodder for the Tiger last I checked lol.
@RomanoMilos, а мій возив картоплю на такому, коли я був маленький
