Brief History

In alternative universe

2633
When the flames of Unification war just started to rise up, Earth government was trying to restore peace on lost colonies by both political and, in most cases, military efforts.
In 2666, After 33 years of military triumph, the Federation suffered a row of major military defeats in conflicts on the Nation territory. Soon after, the Earth's High Command forms the requirements for a new type of combat unit under the name of "Mechmarine".
"Mechmarine" project main requirements were: it must be a ground based, 1-st technological tier, walker unit for direct combat and/or fire support; be as cheap and as simple as possible for fast production (mainly to offset the opponent's possible numerical superiority); carry a close-range weapon system and have protection enough for getting in armament effective range.
The one of the most widespread "Mechmarine" type unit was the PeltMann Dynamics-04 also known as "Golem", which was introduced in 2671, went through a couple of modifications in 2691 and 2761, and only in 2905 officially put out of service. Despite that, its construction matrixes (a scheme, blueprint) can be found all around the human known space.
"Golem" got a nickname for its durability and overall simplicity. Armed with two 25-mm autocannons it posed itself as a potent adversary in close range. When it can't catch up its counterparts (used by other factions) in terms of speed, remained reliable in situations when bigger and deadlier guns can be overrun by numbers.

"...On the ashes of old Empire, new industrial giants started to rise..."
PeltMann Dynamics is one of the most well known industrial giants that makes all sort of things for the Federation. Founded in 2637, received a monopoly status in 2671 and held it till 2908 when most of its facilities were obliterated in war. It still exists at the moment of 2991, but their military branch cant catch up other modern companies in order to retake its place as a main arms dealer of the Earth government.
The most of their production is of simple design, cheap and sturdy but, at times, crude and not so advanced in terms of electronics...

 VTOL Up/Down - Forward/Backward movement ( when VTOL > 0.5 mech runs )
 Yaw - Turns left/right
 Roll - Strafe left/right
 Trim Up/Down - Aligns leg position in walk/run cycle
 Brakes - Jump
 AG7 - Terrain detection (lines up feet with the surface)
 AG8 - Gyroscope
 AG6 + LG - idle animations
 AG5 + Camera view - manual targetting

HUD

Where:
 Top Middle:
 * Upper Number - Camera Heading
 * Lower Number - Hull Heading

 Middle:
 * Reticle - just a reticle

 Top Left:
 * Hull Heading
 * Movement indicator (Forward; Fast Forward; Reverse)

 Top Right:
 * Terrain detection on/off
 * Manual/Auto aim indicator
 * Warning that shows up when target is out of range

  • There is a slight delay before the mech starts acting (Turn,Strafe,Jumps etc.)
  • HUD Appear only in Cockpit (camera) view
  • There is a delay when switching from walk to run (and opposite) to prevent (minimize) stumble
  • Use Trim while going up/down the hill (it will help, just get used to it; it also work while running)
  • You can't aim while running, jumping (manually or auto)
  • Auto-aim is limited by distance (1.5 km)
  • Both auto and manual aim share targetting angle limits: +- 45 Horizontal and Vertical
  • Terrain detection (AG7) may not work well while aiming manually
  • If mech stumble most input will be blocked untill it gets up
  • There is 4 "idle animations" each activates in specific "time" and include: 2 that cycle in between, 1 kinda dance and the last is "distraction dance"

Afterwords

This thing was an experiment. It uses good old trigonometry for walking cycle with a bit of modifications, there is a basic, semi-autonomous ground level detection which makes it easier to go down- and up-hill. The joints made of a joystick bases and are less wobbly (it is controllable!)
Also the decals are handmade and their impact on the performance is less than of the pixel-generated ones. There is a lot of FT, but, according to a part count, it is somewhat mobile-friendly...

Soon

Have Fun

You know what? smooth(x, y-y*0.95*clamp01(AltitudeAgl>z)) is pretty useful for running cycle.

    @Grob0s0VBRa ... and here I thought it looked closer to a BattleMech.
    Hell, the size meant it's probably a ProtoMech, and the 2 × A/C2 loadout checks out.

    @ThomasRoderick
    i did not noticed that this mech looks like Wh40k titan, am i?
    i mean, with the help of search, i found out what Mantha meant. And yep, while im into 40k universe prety much (why am i use necrons as a profile pic after all...). I did not realized that it's shaped just like a titan, a warlord titan to be precise.
    Lol, i'm ancient.

    Oh and thanks for the vote.
