The ATS-01 is the first testbed for the experimental semi-stasis permapitch system, which allows an aircraft to hover at a pitch angle with reduced horizontal travel. This is useful for the operation of a ground assault hovercraft without the need for a co-pilot operating the weapon systems.

It is armed with two high-power particle rifles, which deals a lot of damage and knockback to enemies due to the large amount of superheated particles producing an "explosive-like" effect on contact with an object. The particle rifles have a 10 second cooldown time after each use. A standard particle gun and 14 unguided rockets are provided as well.

Due to its slow speed, it is very vulnerable to anti-aircraft guns and guided missiles.

Once you are familiar with the performance of the permapitch system, shooting at ground targets becomes really easy.

( i ) The engine requires about 70% throttle for ascending.

( i ) The semi-stasis permapitch system works by combining the Project: Gyrotator's technology (pre-1.6, uses Gyroscopic Cockpits mod) with existing Gyroscope part and the rotation ability of VTOL Nozzles. The result is pitch with much reduced horizontal travel of the aircraft. Note that I still gave the aircraft some horizontal travel, so you can use the permapitch system for forward movement.

( i ) If you are using the permapitch system for movement, note that the more you angle with it, the less the yaw control works. Use yaw and roll at the same time.

[ ! ] Avoid overusing the permapitch system! Setting angle above the first marker on the VTOL slider is dangerous.

( i ) By setting the particle rifles' roundsPerSecond parameter to -1 and burstCount parameter to 1, I gave them the ability to shoot at the same time, instead of firing one every 5 seconds.
