GIAT BOXYNA
Hello everyone! Say hello to my first (and surely not the last) microcar!
...Yeah that's about it for this section...
-What Is this?
It's a tiny 2 seater microcar made for urban commuting and not much else. It's pretty much a cousin of the Citroen Ami since it follows the same design philosophy. The car Is almost perfectly symmetrical from the outside having a squared shape to make it cheaper to produce and to sell. The interior is also bare-bones not having any infotainment screen, only a phone holder.
Speed Is limited to 60km/h and the range should be of around 80km in an urban setting (but i think that it has the chance of reaching 100km on long straight roads)
-Lore
Giat has always been king of small affordable EVs in the U.S.E. (their home country), this was also helped by the presence of a huge microcar market. The company mostly sold the Giat "Bubble", a compact bubble car at 8000 G but as the market progressed some companies started offering microcars at a slightly lower price tag.
Giat couldn't and wouldn't let this slide so they started thinking of applying the same philosophy of the B0X1 (small, squarish and simple) on an actual microcar.
The company ended up with an extremely radical yet "conservative" vehicle.
The platform was a shrinked version of their C.V.P. used on regular models since it was cheaper to build compared to the Bubble platform.
Every piece outside the car would be identical from side to side, reducing production complexities, and built in plastic to save weight and money. Only the structural protection of the passenger compartment would be built in steel to increase safety. Same thing happened on the inside, with large plastic containers for storage placed everywhere and only a phone holder instead of an infotainment screen.
This allowed the company to sell a 5000 G car (which would be around 6000€ in real money)
with some limitations that is, like the lowest speed and range for its class mostly making it a purely urban vehicle.
Once the car started selling it managed to completely outsell the competition mostly because of the price alone. The people buying the B0X1NA were mostly interested in an inexpensive vehicle to go from A to B inside cities or urban areas, so they didn't care about design or performance, all they needed was a cheap car and the B0X1NA was Just that.

@airlinerbuilder no wonder why you liked microcars in the first place
@126 well, i never said that before so...
Surprise! :)
@airlinerbuilder intresting, i didn't know that you're an italian in the first place 😂
@126 yes Indeed, i'm italian. I used € Just because i'm more familiar with it and It can be easily turned into USD with a quick Google conversion.
@airlinerbuilder also, why is the currency in €? are you a european by any chance?
Gyatt
@126 well, thinking about it, i could start to lore drop some things about my fictional world in between vehicles, especially when i don't have enough time to build stuff. :)
GYATT
@airlinerbuilder i see, still interested in the lore of your world though so... I won't mind you sending paragraphs long or pure L O R E
(mainly because i wanted to find inspiration so that i could write better, more serious lore like you are, but im also kinda intrested in your world's lore so... why not?)
@126 oh, in that case, it doesn't really stand for anything. It used to mean "Earth" but i recently started re working the lore so now It's Just kind of a parody of "U.S.A."
@airlinerbuilder still curious as to what the e stands for, even though as you said this fictional country isn't really usa so...
@126 pretty much, doesn't really matter since the country itself isn't similar to America
@airlinerbuilder okay but seriously, is the u.s.e. just america from temu or what?
@126 lore so deep that i'm too lazy to drop
wtf is a u.s.e. lmao
