SNCACG 541 Cigogne STOL testbed
The Stork was one of the first airplanes I built in SimplePlanes. Yes, it still uses the original blocks for fuselage. However it is also my to-go-to airframe if I want to experiment with some new ideas.
This iteration is the model 54, technology demonstrator -or in good French tradition the 541- by the equally French 'Societé Nationale de Construction à Acronyme Completement Generique'. It was used to test different approaches to landing flaps and speed reduction/lift augmentation devices for use in the subsequent 54X series of STOL Army Cooperation planes, in particular the Type 547 flying battlefield ambulance.
I upload it here not so much as a practical flying model, but as a showcase of various ideas to game the wings of your next airplane. So download, have a look at the tricked-out wing in skeleton view, may be have a test flight or two and then go ahead to the full playable version of this plane: the SNCACG 457 Cigogne Ambulance.
PS, as for flying: VTOL down lowers the flaps, VTOL up engages the air brakes/dive brakes and engine breaking (left joystick down) also engages the outer air brake panels. Otherwise the controls are your standard Throttle/Roll on the left and Pitch/Yaw on the right
