Griffin CTS [iOS Build]
A small project on my iOS device. It actually began about a month before I created an SP account. Originally, I set out to model a jet that I made in Garry's Mod, but failed miserably. In doing so, I abandoned the project, until a few days ago.
Controls
Activator 1 - VTOL mode
Activator 8 - De-activate AA REFLEX missiles (useful in multiplayer)
When in VTOL
VTOL controls altitude.
Pitch for forward movement.
Yaw for... yaw.
There is no lateral. Sorry!
Horizontal Flight
Standard controls
Tips
Landing and taking off should only be done in VTOL mode.
Transitioning between VTOL and forward flight is easiest if you build up some speed.
Backstory
The Griffin CTS is the heavily armed little brother of the Gryphon personal transport vehicle. The origins of the design are fairly unknown, as the project was distributed amongst various designers from various backgrounds - Pirates and SPEcorp contractors alike took part in the haphazard design effort that yielded the Griffin CTS.
The ship has many similarities to its more elegantly designed, yet highly functional, Gryphon counterpart. However, it's primary features were not meant to emulate the Gryphon; the Griffin is a much older design than the Gryphon, and existed before the Gryphon. Perhaps, then, the Gryphon was inspired by the Griffin.
More peculiar are the differences between the two aircraft. They occupy roughly the same niche, but have differences in weaponry and cargo space. The Griffin has much less cargo space, but boasts some of the heaviest weapons of any civilian aircraft. The haphazard design becomes evident with the weapons, as none are original. The Griffin's guns, Quad-mounted Pulse Shotguns, were taken from the Rapiditas AGRAV Racer, a SPEcorp design. Missiles were no exception, and their REFLEX array designs were borrowed from New Portum Private Aerospace's Solaris Vagus Helicopter.
The Griffin is most commonly used by traders and transporters in volatile areas, but can also be used by bounty hunters or police localities. Pirates rarely use the aircraft, as while it is powerful, it is still restrained by laws and regulations.
A fairly important announcement
I have reached a certain turning point in my life that will probably require my full attention for at least a month. In other words, I won't be posting much for a while. There is a small chance that I won't ever post again, but that chance is very small. I'll still check the site occasionally, but if you stop hearing from me, you'll know why.

@Alpha6 Sounds good. Thanks for letting me know.
It is mobile friendly, under 500 parts is 👌
@Alpha6 Is it not?
it should be mobile friendly because it's made on iOS
GMod much? XD
lol after a month @spefyjerbf
@InternationalAircraftCompany I forgot one of the links! I'll get to that. Thank you!
Link the Gryphon lol
@LiamW I am seriously thinking about having a gun-based shield system as of now, and adding damage to the gun will make it a nasty surprise for anyone who is on the receiving end of a house-sized dagger, I assume. And yes, this thing is going to be inspired by the Intercipias CIWS, a weapon that I loved for its efficiency, and hated for lagging up my (junk of a) phone.
@spefyjerbf :( ok but make it good!
@DEDSEC14 I don't do replicas, but I might make something inspired by it!
Can you build the "Oblivion Bubble Ship?"
@small1324 Unfortunately I won't have time, but I'll hold on to the idea. I think this will be a hiatus, but life can do unexpected things sometimes. That's part of the fun though, right?
Yeah, when I originally considered the ramming tool I had multiplayer in mind. If you're able, BogdanX has made a suicidal craft challenge. It appears as though @LiamW 's idea might work in this situation, an explosion large enough to take out the USS Beast might be in order. Hopefully you can enter, I want to see what you can create if I were to theoretically force you to enter and restrict you to watercraft. If you're too busy to be around, that sucks. However, if you can make time I'd like to see one last creation.
@small1324 That does sound fun. I'll definitely think about it!
I was thinking it would be more effective in multiplayer. Collisions affect your craft and others when they collide. Make a boat that can ram like Greek Warships! Your ship is strong, and your willpower is stronger. Bullets are nothing, just go straight for that player that keeps shooting REFLEX missiles at you.
Edit: And bolt a GodRender onto the second deck. You can't go wrong with the GodRender.
@LiamW Yep. Both designs have their strengths too!
@spefyjerbf Probably a good idea. I was just trying to think of an impact activated device. SimplePlanes isn't too good at collisions even after 1.8
@LiamW That's good too, although a gun-based approach might be more fun for me.
@spefyjerbf @small1324 If you embed explosives into the battering ram and mod every single part's health to 1000000, you would have a single use battering ram effective against ships without damaging yourself.
@small1324 Thank you! unfortunately conventional battering rams won't damage the ships. Maybe I can make one work with some kind of gun, perhaps an energy battering ram? I'll definitely think about it.
Hey @spefyjerbf, I saw this go up yesterday and I loved it! The Gryphon isn't all that fast, but this version is lovely. I had a spur-of-the-moment idea while playing around with one of your old boats. I haven't seen many recent ones, and Actus is finnicky on mobile. Making one with a high-health battering ram like Greek ships of old would be awesome! The physics engine hates collisions, so making it with shocks to buffer the rest of the ship would be pretty great. Maybe redesign a more mobile-friendly version of Actus? I like it's angular looks, but it and Archangel lag too much on my Razer Phone. I'd like to see this idea come to fruition but as I'm on mobile and don't understand fuselages well, it'd be great to hand my ideas to more skilled builders. Good luck with whatever greets you in life. The community will be waiting for you when you return.
@ThomasRoderick Thank you!

Good to see another build form you!
