With beyond-visual-range missile, the Cobra is capable of "lock-on after launch" (LOAL), and possesses full-sphere/all-direction (including the rear) attack ability. Cobra features advanced electro-optical infrared homing seeker that scans the target area for hostile aircraft, then locks-on for terminal chase. AIM-10 features reprogrammable InfraRed Counter Counter Measures (IRCCM) capability that coupled with the FPA provide improved look down into clutter and performance against the latest IRCM. Compatible with the Federation Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System, and three-dimensional thrust-vectoring control (TVC) system which providing increased turn capability over traditional control surfaces.
