MIG-1.44
Soviet-developed twin-engine single-seat fighter of a partially stealthy design.
The mig-1.44 is a dual-engine single-seat fighter developed by Russia to compete with the United States in the fourth generation of fighter aircraft, with a partially stealth design. It features unconventional delta wings, a double-plumped tail duck layout and adjustable S-shaped intakes, a heavy use of composite materials and technology to reduce infrared signature, and a wave-absorbing coating on the fuselage surface and inside the intakes.
The Mig-1.44 fighter was developed by the Soviet Mikoyan Design Bureau, and the design began in 1983 (design code 1.42), and the first aircraft began to be built in 1989 (engineering code 1.44), after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Mikoyan Design Bureau only produced a technical demonstration aircraft of the MIG-1.44 in 1994 due to financial problems. (In 2006, Mikoyan, Sukhoi, Ilyusin, Irkut and Tupolev merged to form the "United Aviation Manufacturing Company"), first flew on February 29, 2000, with only one technical demonstration aircraft
