[RD Cockpits] SR-72 Darkstar

99.2k WHNineTripleOne  2.1 years ago
Auto Credit Based on ReinMcDeer's Darkstar V1.0

"One last ride..."

Tier III Plane

Description

Concept aircraft based on the SR-72, the SR-71 Blackbird's successor. In real life, this project could eventually reach Mach 6, which is hypersonic speed (Mach 5 or above), and it is unmanned. In the movie "Top Gun: Maverick", the protagonist is a test pilot of a manned prototype based in this project.

This aircraft is an exclusive edition and the most complicated-to-made aircraft than the others.

Controls are still same as the previous predecessor

Changelogs

Modified

To make it looks Ace Combat-ish, the plane now modified with weaponries, internal weapon bay, and one way cockpit (As similar as shown in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown). Since this thing is outrageously fast as fart, i added drag chute to reduce speed while landing.

Armed and weaponized

Payloads:
Guns: Pulse Laser

Primary: 2x Sidewinder

Secondary: 2x XSDB

New controls

[AG2] Open secondary weapon bay.
[AG3] Drag chute.
[Cam3] On-Board View.
[FireWeapon] Hold to open primary missile bay.
The rest are still same as it's previous predecessor.

Trivia

  • This aircraft is really special amongst the other RD Cockpits aircraft series, because this is an aircraft that takes a lot of time and process, especially when making it's weaponries and adding details to this aircraft. That's really complicated.
  • In the actual thing, the Darkstar suppose to be a Hypersonic Recon jet, not a fighter jet. Nor even has a one way cockpit just similar as the one from Ace Combat 7.

The main cockpit view, has a one way canopy to see through at the front.

On-Board View as an alternative view.
To make you easier to see out of the cockpit.

@WHNineTripleOne Is it fine if I modify things like expanding the cockpit, doing exterior details and then upload it?

as a heads up it is darn near impossible to get this plane to mach three at specified altitudes, changiing the Scramjet startup minimum speed to 1000 instead of 1030 allows you to engage at slightly below and then make it fairly easy to transition to hypersonic flight

yu shoud provide some instruction on how it is flown because i seem to be having issues flying at hypersonic speeds...

@WolfHunter9111 in the movie and if you look at the actual model the whole aircraft looks really short as if it was squished

Wouldnt missiles and bombs be useless on a Hypersonic jet?
Also aint the Darkstar suppose to be a Hypersonic Recon jet?
    Not a fighter jet?

Nice man, I've also made a cockpit of ReinMcDeer's DarkStar... And it's VR compatible... It's highlighted in my profile.... Don't judge the other planes
