To round off my collection of V bombers I bring you the Vickers Valiant! Not as famous as the other two and she certainly didn’t share the longevity of the Victor or Vulcan but I have spent more time on this one for sure! This Valiant has been built as close to 1:1 scale as I could, albeit I think she’s shorter by a fraction but the wing span is bang on. Performance is pretty accurate too, she will clip along above the 500mph mark above 20,000ft and she will pull some tight manoeuvres if you want to forget the inter-crystalline corrosion that curtailed her service life. Making a hollow bomb bay I find a little too disruptive to the surface and hence why I’ve kinda cheated here as you’ll see with the instructions. One of the valiants more morbid distinctions was being the only British bomber to actually have dropped a live nuclear device - so appropriately, she is “nuclear” armed with Blue Danube free fall device and complete in anti-flash livery. 4-6 boom 50s I cant remember exactly! Destructions are always VTOL+down and the following; 1 flaps, 2 inflight fuelling probe, 3 bomb bay doors, 4 drops Blue Danube, 5 ditches external tanks, 8 lights. Fuel load can be played with to increase cruising but at present it’s good for a short sortie to unleash devastation and continue to Mongolia to shack up in a yurt and try to avoid the fallout (as morbidly described by V bomber pilots as a realistic option should they actually release nuclear armament) There’s a certain challenge out there that this is not intended to take part in. Please note I began making this some weeks ago to complete my V bomber builds. As ever it’s a pleasure making these and thank you all for making the Bombay my most rated build to date! Tang0five, signing off.
