Focke-Wulf FW-352 Stahlregen
Credits~ Actually, none. I did it all by myself for once, except for the Iron Crosses, but they were free-to-use, so...
XD
Let me tell you a story. The year is 1944. The Nazis, desperate for a solution to the Allies' around-the-clock bombing campaign, turned to Focke-Wulf and their designer Kurt Tank, maker of the FW-109 fighter that had achieved so much success. Focke-Wulf's engineers thought a twin-engine fighter would work best at the high altitude the Allied bombers flew at. The result was the FW-352.
The gold trim was designed to make it recognizable to its allies, and the black was for stealth, so the bombers wouldn't see it until it was too late. “Stahlregen” translates to “steel rain”, an appropriate name for the rain of steel put out by its four 12.7mm MGs and twin 20mm cannons.
Sadly, only two prototypes were ever completed, and only one survives today, the one assigned to Oberleutnant Fritz Kohl, the commander of JG 501, the squadron these were to be assigned to. His is the only prototype that saw combat. He was an ace with 46 kills, ten of them in the Stahlregen.
I was aiming for a @SpiritusRaptor type design, but I kind of suck at this, so don't blame me if it doesn't fly well. I did test it, though, and it is very agile for a twin prop.
Thanks to @randomusername for helping
Come and fly this piece of history! (This is a fictional aircraft, so it's alternate history.) Enjoy!
