Fw-290V2 "Fischadler" -- 1948 Scneider Cup
INSTRUCTIONS: Trim all the way down (nose up) and full power for takeoff. Accelerate to 180 mph, then pull back to take off. To land, fly the airplane onto the water with full nose up trim (slider all the way down) level just below 120 mph using 8% power. Don't "pancake" onto the water, or you'll nose over. Hold stick all way back through touchdown and deceleration. HISTORY: The Focke Wulf's second entry in the 1948 Schneider Cup races, the second prototype, V2, of the Fw-290, "Fischdler", Osprey, is also based on the Fw-190 airframe, but with a huge, 3,000 hp BMW experimental turboprop, the 1220. This one is faster, climbs more rapidly and attains greater altitude than the original Fw-190 and beckons the future of aircraft design, jet power. For the Fatherland, ja vol!
