The J6M5 "Saishokaze..."

A Japanese fighter for the Otesk War... but it's a jet?!

Lore

Following the events of WWII, Japan's military was severely weakened by the Allied efforts. However, the war's end meant peace, and so all was well between the US and Japan.
However, with the Cold War making its way onto the scene, the world wasn't fully peaceful just yet. TUPL took notice of this, especially the Soviet Union strengthening ties with China. As such, he took up the task of building a jet to help defend Japan in the case of an emergency.
Long story short, the J6M5 was developed, and gifted to Japan as an air-defense fighter. The initial intention was to guard against Russian and Chinese bombers, but some would be borrowed by the USAF (as well as several sold to the United States under the name F-40) and used in the Korean War.
The J6M5's main usage was in the Otesk War, however. It was used to defend against several threats, and normally proved quite a formidable foe thanks to its high speed, great agility, and decent armor. Its 20mm cannons were no laughing stock either, and tore through a great many foes. The Saishokaze's only real weakness was location, as Japan was, at the time, essentially barred from war unless others brought the fight to them. Had the J6M5 achieved even more prime "real-estate," it would've been even more of a terror during the O-War.

Now,

You may have noticed the roundels. The ones on the wing are actually modeled after the Japanese roundel shown in the original Otesk War competition post (for which the Saishokaze was made). The ones on the tail are the standard Japanese roundel.
Now, the cause of the J6M5 sporting its rear roundel on the tail rather than the fuselage is mainly because of the "Guardian-Stripes." Although the Saishokaze was the first, it wouldn't be the last TUPL-supplied aircraft made to defend Japan. As such, he equipped all of his aircraft (that were sold or given to Japan) with a blue-yellow-blue stripe scheme on the wingtips and tail section, marking the aircraft as a TUPL-built guardian of Japan, hence the name of these decals.

'Tis all. Have fun!

Oh also first TUPL Plane of 2025 woo

    @SomeSPGuyWhoLikesLore Thanks, but funny story:
    This plane is notably older than most of the planes I posted recently. In fact, of all the aircraft I've posted as of recent (and will post up until the end of FSF Wave 2), the F-86F is the chronologically newest. All of the others only got posted later, but were built at least a little earlier.
