Virgin Atlantic Airways leased the aircraft from GMT Holdings on 30/05/1997 with registration G-VHOL, name Jetstreamer and cabin configuration C40W28Y187, and was in the fleet of the British company until 06/06/2011. Then it returned to the leasing company and while receiving the M-YRGU register, it was stored at Tarbes Airport in France.

Aseman Airlines purchased this Airbus through Bangladeshi company Rajshahi and imported it to Bangladesh on December 18, 2011 [corresponding to December 27, 2011] on the announced flight route. The plane's registration was changed to EP-APA less than a month later and it started flying on March 22 of the same year. The arrangement of the seats of this plane is C34W35Y181.
