Background

Federation

The AH-24 Lapikov is a large helicopter gunship, attack helicopter and low-capacity troop transport with room for ten passengers. Produced by Greyhound Systems and has been operated since 1970 by the Federation Royal Air Force.

The AH-24 Lapikov is equipped with a glass cockpit and advanced sensors, the most noticeable of which being the AN/APG-65 millimeter-wave fire-control radar, target acquisition system and the Radar Frequency Interferometer, housed in a dome above the main rotor. Targeting systems can be linked with helmet mounted systems. Cameras mounted around the aircraft give it 360 degree, day and night awareness of the surroundings.

Lapikov is armed with three hard points on each wing with four primarily used for mounting rocket pods (60mm 32 Shots Each) with the outer two for ATGMs. Mounted in the nose turret is the M61 20mm Vulcan Cannon (Other versions mount twin barreled 30mm or a 12.7mm Triple Barrel Rotary Cannon). Additional guns mounted can be the 12.7mm or 7.62mm Triple Barrel Rykova rotary as a door gun. To combat Electro-Optically guided and Infrared/UV Guided missiles, the Lapikov mounts two laser dazzlers to blind the seeker head. Additional countermeasures are Chaff, Flares and Infrared suppression exhaust nozzles.

The fuselage of the Lapikov is protected against 12.7mm rounds from all angles (Titanium Rotors also resistant against 12.7mm). Crucial parts (Engines, Pilot, etc.) are protected against 23mm rounds. Pilots are protected by a titanium-armored "tub" (Or Light Boron Armor) and by ballistic resistant windscreens.

-Throttle past 5% (Recommended 10-15%) to fly.
-Helicopter Controls (Pitch Forward to move forward, Roll to fly to the side, Yaw to turn).
-AG8 Disables Controls to allow control of the gun.
