FB-27 GreyHound Fighter Bomber

Background

Daslan Delta was born from the need for a supersonic attacker aircraft from Air Force development and acquisition program. The program produced 2 different aircraft design proposals and as the program's outcome, the Daslan Delta was selected as the winning design.
The success of Daslan Delta led to demand for aircraft adoption among the military. in the Air Force sparked interest across other branches of the military. The Navy, in particular, sought to adopt a similar aircraft. But as the Navy tested the aircraft's compatibility for their needs, they found Daslan Delta lacked the performance that the Navy wanted, notably the single-engine design that was not favored for naval operation.

This search led the Navy to revisit the program's losing competitor, and after further evaluation, it was found to be compatible with their needs. As a result, FB-27 GreyHound was adopted for the Navy’s attack wings.

Design and Description

FB-27 GreyHound is a single-seat, dual-engine supersonic attack aircraft designed to fulfill a role similar to the Daslan Delta, even with her roots that she made initially for an interceptor. Its design was based on Harfark GreyHound, a similar swing-wing naval fighter. The aircraft also inspired by Panavia Tornado and MIG 27, especially for its 30mm rotary cannon.

Compared to Daslan Delta, Greyhound boasts a faster max speed and a more modern cockpit, using MFD rather than a full analog display. Having the dual engine also added layer of safety in the event of an engine failure or malfunction. Overall, the faster speed, swing wing design,and modern cockpit, come with the cost of being more expensive both on manufacture and maintenance. Being more expensive to operate was the reason of the Air Force decision to favor Daslan Delta, for its capability to fulfill the role with less cost.

also another dormant, 2+ years old idea could be realized. This thing was initially planned for low-effort build for second account, but It seems that I'm not doing that. But the idea of small dumb munition only + unguided rockets only was on my mind before my hiatus. My initial design in my head looked a bit more to Su-24, with wider body. But the final design went for the slimmer MIG-27 and Tornado like fuselage. Also I was planning on using the expanding inlet spike like F111 but that might be too complicated.

Also, its my second attempt at making curving style camo. Not fun, but seeing the end product is fun
