Hey hey hey, two in a row. Don’t see that too often from me. Been working on getting this one ready for a while. Its definitely upload ready but I’m probably gonna mess around with the lights a bit more. Maybe make a version with unmodded lights. Or if someone wants to do that, go ahead. Now, without further ado, lore time.

It’s said that one of the most important factors in war is the capability of an army’s logistics. Without logistics and army cannot effectively fight in regions that are far from central depots. When reviewing the military, military expert Zewa Aman noted the age and inefficiency of both the logistics systems and the vehicles used by the Logistics Corps. In his government sanctioned restructure of the logistics corps, he highlighted the need for a locally developed mid-range tactical logistic vehicle to supply forward bases in the field as well as provide a platform for many of the other necessary applications such as SHORAD, mobile radars, Generator vehicles, etc.

Marathon Motors was contracted to design and manufacture the truck and given the funding the build a new facility alongside the Juti production line. Their design provided what could be considered a multirole truck. Multirole because the designers understood the limited scope the government had for expensive logistical trains and knew they wanted something that could do a lot well with room to grow in the future. Thus, they dubbed the protect the Multipurpose Tactical logistical vehicle (MPLTV) as an in-house name.

The design incorporates features present in MRAP’s (Armoured underside, elevated base, double based armour layers, composite fireproof layering and blast resistant flooring) with features found in APC’s (armoured cab with an HMG mounted in a gunners cupola which is capable of being fired on either manually or remotely; applied armour protection kits to enhance protection of both crew and cargo; the design of the cab features armour sloping so that most small arms will never penetrate unless the angle between the shot and the armour is 90 (and even then, the composite armour will likely not get pierced.) and design the truck so that it would be able to attack four-wheel towed platforms to increase its load.

Additionally, the truck can be fitted with a snorkel and is capable of fording up to 2 meters with preparation and 1 meter without, alongside several other minor features (Built-in GPS, integrated comms, etc).

With an empty weight of 15000 pounds, the HV-228 is considered a medium truck however it can punch well above this weight classification with ease. It is equipped with a Mk.12 HMG, 7.62mm ammo. Cab armour is capable of resisting 30mm bullets and shots from rocket-propelled grenades. The powertrain and underside can survive direct blasts from grenades, IED’s, mines and small bombs (although not without considerable axle damage at this stage). It can achieve a maximum unloaded speed of 90 mph on the road and 82 mph on rough terrain/offroad.
