Stallion Tank Destroyer Mk 1
VTOL up to move forward. Yaw to steer. Roll to traverse gun, pitch to elevate gun. A fast, wheeled tank destroyer operated by the Pilotmario Army. Armed with a 105mm coilgun, it is capable of engaging targets at ranges up to 9 miles away. It has a crew of three: commander, gunner and driver. The main gun is loaded through an automatic loading system that can fire up to 20 shots a minute. All three are located in the hull, enhancing their protection from enemy fire. It is designed for shoot and scoot tactics from hull-down positions in order to delay, if not halt, enemy armor. The vehicle's good mobility allows it to find a new position after firing, and the excellent elevation angles allow it to use hill crests effectively. The low profile turret reduces the probability the turret will be hit. If the turret is hit, the crew will not be injured. For longer-range work, the machine also has long-range Inferno anti-armor missiles. For close encounters with the infantry, there is a coaxial machine gun.

@Pilotmario Ah okay, depending on the design of the projectile, by imparting a section with a greater ferrous magnetic response it can very quickly take on a spin according the theoretical function of a coil array, conversely that could destabilize the shell in passing through the array and have catastrophic results. I guess when it comes to weapons we should keep to the military standard of K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid!) lol
@DragonAerotech Yes. Except that this is a smoothbore gun, so there's no spin imparted on the projectile by the gun.
@Glaceon What is this ... a case of "barrel envy?" lol j/k A coilgun or "gauss" weapon propels projectiles in a similar fashion to a rail-gun using electromagnetic energy but instead of projecting it straight down a rail or array of rails, it forms an electromagnetic field around the projectile while accellerating it forward within the weapon through a sequence of coils that activate and deactivate as it moves down it's array. Therefore the longer the barrel, the more coils that can be integrated and therefore the greater the velocity/spin stability of the projectile - in theory.
