This challenge is meant to be tough and not for the new player but that doesn't mean don't try. Challenge will end Feb 27

First off lets start with the specifications:
The aircraft must be able to hold a 20 degree climb and hold 160kmh (100mph)
then the aircraft must be able to climb to 5000m (16404ft) and cruise
At that altitude it must be able to straight line with trim and reach 402kmh (250mph)
The stall speed must be around 128kph (90mph) and have a hook for carrier landings.
You must use the given engine and weapon along with the weight connected to the propeller the gun you can place but you must have only one and the engine and weights can not be duplicated.
There should be around 40 minutes of fuel into the aircraft.
The plane should be able to land on a carrier

Rules:
No modding parts unless it's for decoration
No Double wings or stacked parts making two wings in the same space look like one wing and such to gain extra lift the only wing stacking allowed is like a biplane there must be a large and visible separation.
No duplicating the engine and cannons there must only be one.
Specifications of your craft should be listed in the description to save me the trouble of multiple tests. if you can not i wont hold it against you
Does not have to be a successor just remember to @ me
Grading system ( all going to a scale going from -10 to +10):

Speed - the maximum amount of energy
Maneuverability/retention - how fast it can change direction while keeping energy
acceleration - how fast it gains speed
Firepower - whatever you add like bomb mounts or extra weapon systems besides the cannon. by default its 0
Air Stability - how well it flies does it flutter and wobble? this will tell
Ground stability/landing - does it go straight on the ground can it turn this is what that is meant for.

Just remember to have fun!

@LordAidanYT well when it’s only two people who participate it’s a 50/50. But keep up the hard work!

Thank you for making this challenge, was sure fun trying to make something that met all the requirements. This is the first challenge I’ve actually come in first place on! @Panzer828

Can we increase the HP of the engine using the normal tools?

@Mostly thank you sir! It’s quite simple but challenging most reason why it’s challenging is because of the fuel thing.

@Jonathanperin the engine is not meant to be scaled at all. It says it in the rules and specifications

@Panzer828 ok also scaled rotators for stick in the cockpit

@SledDriver 60 years isn’t very long I wonder where we will be at in another 60. In terms of technology.

@Panzer828 Yeah. And we went from the Wright flyer to the SR-71 in only about sixty years...

@SledDriver kinda awesome how we got so far, went from a bicycle propelled airplane to jet engines that create so much thrust they can fly straight up for some time.

@Jonathanperin no you can not it’s meant to be a model of the DB601M engine with 900hp and a weight of 600kg

@Panzer828 Well, the idea behind variable wings is good in theory, but in practice it has at least three drawbacks: one, the additional mass required for the wing structure and the actuating mechanism; two, the increased drag because the mechanism makes the wing root thicker; and three, the loss of fuel capacity.

Then the aerodynamicists developed long chord, short span wing shapes (delta, trapezoidal) that can perform well in both low- and high-speed regimes. This wouldn't have been feasible earlier, because delta wings have high drag at low speeds, but these days engines are so powerful that it doesn't matter.

It's like the transonic area rule (Whitcomb area rule) that you can see in the wasp-waist design of early jet fighters. We don't see that any more because engines are so powerful that they can push through the transonic zone effortlessly.

@SledDriver sadly yes, would’ve proven interesting in the war if it worked. Maybe it could’ve been improved and the mechanism lighter? Maybe use the air and locking mechanisms to make a piston for the telescopic wing. Idk it was a nice idea.

@Panzer828 Wow, the NIAI RK-I is really something. I haven't seen anything like it before. It's funny how Stalin inadvertently killed it because he was so interested in it.

@SledDriver Actually the NIAI RK, LIG-7. those work too though. pretty cool to be honest.

@Panzer828 Yeah, I know the benefits of variable-geometry wings :) I just looked up the plane, is it the Makhonin Mak-123 or Mak-10?

@SledDriver ohhhhh that makes much more sense... and the implementations from what i understood were more of trying to have the best of both worlds kinda thing.. Russia made their telescopic wing to basically have high lift to take off and be maneuverable and then retract to gain extra speed and be faster kinda mixing a biplane and monoplane together. It's just a neat idea i thought was interesting and really cool.. im still waiting on some one to make a Naboo royal starship as smooth as your aircraft.. most have jagged edges even the aircraft im working on does too.
