Background

The Arissa Beck-class of ships are a class of Rostov Principal Anti Air Missile System-equipped air defence frigates in service with the Royal Federation Navy. The vessels were built by Tadei Technologies, with the class named for after Admiral Arissa Beck.

Although designated as frigates, they are comparable to destroyers in capability but not in size and were intended to replace the Navy's Aleksasha-Class. The ships are fitted with American Rostov weapons technology allowing them to track hundreds of airborne targets simultaneously as part of its air defence network.

The Arissa Beck-class frigates incorporate ballistic resistant steel in the hull, along with the power plants being mounted on anti-vibration mounts to reduce noise and make them less detectable by submarines.

The ships of the Arissa Beck-class Flight 1A are 450.6ft long overall. They displace 5,810 tons at full load. The frigates have a crew of 32 officers, 60 petty officers, and 120 enlisted sailors. They have accommodations for an additional twelve officers and sailors as part of a squadron commander's staff, and they have crew provisions for female sailors. The ships can remain at sea for 21 days at a time

They were built using modular construction and incorporate a multitude of watertight compartments. The ships were designed with a capacity for an extra 290 tons of weight, to allow for future additions of new weapons and sensors without compromising the ships' efficiency. The ships are able to maintain "almost unprecedented stability" in as high as sea state 5 by the Rudder Roll System.

The vessel is equipped with 48x VLS systems for missiles and two cold launch concealed tubes for RGM-77(G) Longinus missiles. Point-defense against cruise missiles is provided by a pair of AK-630 Duet, Phalanx, or Squall systems.

For defense against submarines, the frigates carry two triple-launchers for torpedoes. The ships also carry a variety of guns, including one dual-purpose 76-millimeter gun. They are also armed with two 25 mm remote-controlled autocannons in single mounts.

The Arissa Becks are equipped with a flight deck and hangar that can accommodate two helicopters. Capable of operating helicopters in conditions up to sea state 6. The helicopter handling system uses laser guided and computer controlled manipulator arms to secure the helicopter after landing.
