Infantry Tank Mk. III (Valentine Mk. IX) Mini project
HISTORY:
The war in africa was raging, as Italy, Germany clashed with allied forces occupying the north african territories. While france and america had shermans, the british had the Cromwell tank as well a Cruiser tanks and heavy tanks such as the Crusader and Matilda. That’s what was being used at the time in africa.
The rickety and lightly armoured vehicles such as the Crusaders and Cromwells needed to be replaced, as they were no match for the onslaught of Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks, as well as the StuG, StuH, and Marder tank destroyers. Something needed to be done, and fast. Hence, the Infantry Tank Mk. III, AKA, the Valentine Mk.1. Armed with a QF 2-Pounder 40mm cannon, the tank proved worthy for battle, especially against the Panzer divisions.
The tank soon got gun upgrades to QF 6-Pounder (57mm) and QF 75mm cannons; as well as having the old AEC. A189 9.6 litre Petrol engine with new GMC 6004 Diesel engines. Due to the new battle environment, many of the valentine tanks were stripped of their gunner ports, due to it being a tank that would barely ever engage in close-combat/urban combat against enemy infantry. The little tank was able to survive the invasions of german and Italian forces, eventually squeezing them out of africa, and restoring peace to a land long untouched by war. After it’s campaign in Africa, it went on to fight in the push for berlin, and retired in 1963.

@Mostly Cool, thank you
@Haydenator21 Sure, you can use it however you want. Just make sure to give credit.
@Mostly is it fine if I use the chassis of your tank here? I was wanting to build the Bishop Self-Propelled Gun
Also known as the slowest tank in history
col but hard controls
Best of the best! Good work!
nice
@breitling for photos in description do like this [photo name] (photo link) remove the space between
still dont know how to post photos in description
It’s @mostly good
@breitling Lol
the valentine tank is built on this chassis and i love that thing
btw how are the treads because i notice your build doesnt inhale the part count like actual treads usually do
Wow congrats @SledDriver
especially the fuel caps cough sniper elite
interesting that this tanks design had exterior fuel tanks like the russian T tanks youd think that would leave it vulnerable
Thanks, @Mostly. Nice build.
@CRJ900Pilot @Caveman999 Thanks
Congrats on 100k, @SledDriver
I like it
Cool!
