My entry in to HeavyC22's torpedo bomber challenge

Torpedo sight and autopilot controls and use:

The Va-221 torpedo bomber comes with an advanced gyroscopic torpedo sight that calculates deflection angle allowing attack from any direction and great distance, and flies the aircraft at 20m above ground level.

Attack procedure:
Set throttle to 50%
Activate AG1 to descend do 20m above sea level, launching at a higher altitude will cause the torpedo to pass in front of the target.
Switch to cockpit view
Use VTOL slider to enter target heading in to the sight. See list below for target headings
Use AG2 to enter target speed in to the sight. See list below for target speeds
select torpedo as weapon
line up the vertical line with target center, steady the aircraft and launch the torpedo. Effective range from 6 km (3.7 mi. 3.2 nmi)max. to 2 km (1.2 mi. 1 nmi) min.

List of target speed and headings:
USS Tiny: heading 135, speed 29kmh
USS Beast and escort destroyers: heading 000, speed 29kmh
USS Tiny II and escort ww2 destroyers: heading 000, speed 29kmh
WWII destroyer in combat WW2 torpedo bomber mission: heading 000, Speed 25kmh

Torpedo sight controls:
AG1: Activate altitude autopilot that will take the airplane to 20m above ground level.
VTOL: Set target ship heading.
AG2: Set target ship speed.

The fictional backstory for this fictional aircraft:
Nearing the end of WW2 Soviet Union was looking in to the possibility of participating in the invasion of Japanese home islands, and estimated that the Il-2T and medium bombers it was using for torpedo bombing missions were to slow and vulnerable to deal with the Japanese Imperial navy effectively. So development was started on a torpedo bomber that would be able to operate over the ocean safely in case of an engine failure but would be as fast as a fighter and would have advanced radio navigation equipment. The task of designing the aircraft was given to Valery Vareniyev who formerly worked in the Lavochkin design bureau. Design and testing was complete and production was just getting started but ww2 ended before the Va-221 saw any combat.

Hi @Jerba, I am glad you like my stuff, I guess I just don't post often enough any more, or I don't have enough active flowers.

Hi! I just recently rediscovered you and I’m very happy that your still active, although it’s sad your now under the radar. For your posts and upvotes I never see your craft. (Or am I just online at the wrong time?)

@HeavyC22 Thank you I am glad you like it. And thank you for organizing the challenge, too bad it didn't have more entries. I was really busy and barely managed to finish it in time.
