Bandit Aircraft Group Viper Fighter Mk 2

Auto Credit Based on Pilotmario's Viper Fighter Mk 1
VTOL UP to activate spoilers and airbrakes. VTOL DOWN to activate flaps. Press (1) to discharge drop tanks. Press (2) to discharge missiles. An upgraded variant of the Viper Fighter Mk 1, featuring flaps, improved radar, engines, aerial refuelling capability, and elevator control. The Viper forms the mainstay of the Pilotmario Air Force, providing it the bulk needed to take on numerically superior opponents. While less advanced than the Renegade II, it is much cheaper, simpler, and very capable of holding its own in a dogfight. Unsurprisingly, it is one of the best dogfighters in the PAF, if not the best.

@PINK Infra-red radiation tracking was deemed unreliable due to the ease of jamming the Olympians had, and was not incorporated on the Viper due to cost. The Olympians had the ability to distract IR light, but didn't have the tech for radar jamming. However, the Skysweeper ADS have multi-spectrum capability, able to track targets passively with radio, microwave, infrared, and visible light.
Employing active IRL systems were deemed very non-stealthy, for using IRL in such systems shone brightly, even on early First War IR anti-aircraft detectors.
Our Mk 66 and Mk 81 radars do have a passive microwave detection capabilities, relying on existing natural or artificial radio or microwave emissions. The Mk 81 radar does have a passive multi-spectrum detection capability, meaning it does not require emissions at all in order to detect items. This is useful when behind enemy territory, when radars will be on. The Mk 66 only has a passive detection capability with radio or microwave, in order to reduce cost.
I'll send a fleet of Cobra class Fighters if you want @Pilotmario
I have never understood the so-called maneuverability, the turn rate/circle is much larger/longer. Although it can fly farther, the SK can engage at longer ranges. The Viper struggles to track, until very close range. Also, have you noticed the IRL array for radar-free combat. @Pilotmario
@PINK The Meerkat is still inferior. The Viper's faster and has a more advanced engine, which provide comparable power for greater fuel efficiency and significantly improved acceleration.
That means, assuming both pilots are of equal competence with their machine and know the capabilities and limitations of their machine in comparison to their adversary, the Viper pilot can choose when to fight. If the Viper pilot is at a disadvantage, then he can choose to leave the fight and reengage when he has the advantage. If the Meerkat pilot is at a disadvantage, then he must stand and fight, regardless whether he is at the advantage or not.
During testing, the Meerkat and the Superkat were both outmaneuvered handily by the Viper when both aircraft were under optimal settings. Of note, the Viper was tested without drop tanks, for it is standard procedure for a fighter to discard all irrelevant wing loads (air-ground munitions and drop tanks) if fighter opposition is encountered.
Range is superior, although that is down to the use of external drop tanks and aerial refuelling (the bent rod on the right wing is an aerial refuelling port.
In short, the Viper is much faster, longer-ranged, better-armed, and more maneuverable than the Meerkat in a package marginally more expensive.
Ahhh, the achievements of socialism!
We, have at any given time 5-7 million men in reserve. They a required to train every two weekends, live within 20 minutes of an appropriate military installation, and maintain their own small arms. They can be called on at any time.@Pilotmario
@PINK Sorry to spoil the party, but they do have 20 million soldiers, led by competent officers, and armed with the latest weaponry, comparable to ours.
@GALM1 Sure!
@Pilotmario May I join?
We keep a small peace time force, but we can heft our weight around if necessary. @Polandball
Also, a Meerkat is still on the top of this plane's worst nightmare list @Pilotmario
They have 20 million soldiers. @Polandball
We don't need it. However, the Teutons are eyeing up your country. @Polandball
We have a 5 million man army with 10 million in reserve. We have two kinds of prop engines with three kinds of propellers, and logistics is still a headache. @Polandball
Unfortunately, they're starting with Karama, then Renova. @Polandball
Great! You'll be sitting next to the Teutonic Empire, and they're about to go full Anschluss on the world! @Polandball
Sure! Where do you want New Poland? Karama is a nice place. @Polandball
Something I made for a universe I made. A lot of people have simply jumped on the bandwagon. @Polandball
@Liquidfox Oh, that. It's relatively new compared to other machines, so the Fury isn't exactly on the top of the list of remodels. I want to remodel some older machines such as the Avenger tank, vehicles based off of the Avenger chassis, the Victoria tank family, and the Stallion AFV family. These vehicles will receive significant rebuilds in terms of suspension, drive system, and cosmetic appearance. These remasters will be very similar to that done to the trend-setting Artemis Mk 2; improving appearance and performance significantly, but retaining the machine's character.

@Liquidfox Fury?
@TemDesBur Yep.
Are your creations for an RP?
