Beam Cannons are like the sniper rifles of the dogfighting world. While rate of fire is not a problem, high precision is rewarded with high damage. Beam cannons also do not require any leading of the target, as the beams instantly travel to their maximum range. Aim directly at the target, and fire. Note that this model actually has three beams, that are very close together, for an easier kill. This was done using scaled bullets.
It is highly experimental, but it works. Here is what I know about the weapon so far:
Fire it like any gun, but there are some special mechanics that you should take into account when in combat.
1) Instant travel time: DO NOT lead your target!
2) Precision: The beams are wide, but it is deceptively hard to aim! Note that the spread really doesn't do anything, either. All damage is done the moment that the gun is fired.
3) Burst Fire: While this is rapid fire, it is highly recommended to fire in bursts. try tapping the trigger while aiming at the target, it may or may not be more effective.
4) Quirks: You cannot fire the gun while you are aiming at the land or ocean. You will not see the tracers if you fire the gun, and you will not do any damage.
