On December 28, 2021, Indonesia's Ministry of Transport announced in a statement that, as the regulator, the General Administration of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport has decided to lift the flight ban after completing an assessment of the changes to the System of the Boeing 737 MAX airliner.
