Poltava/Petropavlovsk

was a group of 3 ships in the class.
Petropavlovsk class were built during the 1890's and transferred to Pacific Squadron shortly after their completion based at Port Arthur before the start of Russo-Japanese war in 1904-1905.

All 3 ships in the class participated in the battle of Port Arthur.
Petropavlovsk struck a mine and sunk, Sevastopol and Poltava were sunk or scuttled during the final stages of Port Arthur sieges.

The Petropavlovsk class were fitted with the modest yet powerful 305mm and 152mm secondaries with 47mm tertiaries to complete the ordnance.
with a displacement of 12.000+ tons, this ship is capable to reach only 16 knots (30 kph), ship's armor consisting from 254mm-406mm at the waterline, strong enough to compete with her rivals.

User Information

-Separate Version of this ship re-imagined with Great White Fleet paint scheme >click here GWF Poltava
-Real life accurate size of the ship.
-Camera perspective from the bridge.
-Included in-game craft instructions.
-Features are scarce since most of the techniques and FT i've used is outdated (sadly).
-included a makeshift gun recticle (not accurate, failed horrendously).
-Gun whoosh sound
-Real turning physics, turn radius depends of your ship current speed

I deeply apologize if this ship cannot meet your satisfaction.

(image hosting doesn't work for me somehow, sorry i couldn't give you guys pretty screenie from this ship from the start of the building until finished)

    Official evaluation

    - First Impression (4/5):

On first look, the build looks beautiful, it excellently captures the look of the real ship. The detail work is simply amazing. The accientally forgotten instructions however made it a bit hard to figure out the features.
However, it was compensated by some of those features such the the bridge interior, funnel smoke and the custom gun sound which were all awesome.

    - Design/Accuracy (15/15):

I didn't find any notable inaccuracies compared to the real ship.

    - Details (14/15):

The ship is very well detailed, featuring railings, rigging, even anchor chains. I also appreciated the inlcusion of naval flags.
The only thing I think could have made it better is the addition of windows at least on the superstructure, but other than that, excellent job

    - Features (17/20):

Unfortunately, the builder forgot to add the operational manual to the final upload and I was only able to obtain it after the end of the challenge.
The build has all weaponry of the vessel being usable, including all calibers of guns as well as the torpedo tubes. The main turrets even feature custom gun sounds using jet engines which was a very nice detail.
Unfortunately, the builder seems to have forgotten to double check every weapon system: Some of the torpedo tubes have random activation groups added to them, while some of the tertiary cannons have accidental attachments, making them unable to rotate
The use of custom built propellers and actual rudder based steering was very welcome and works quite well.
A full bridge interior is also built and while the equipment in there can't be used, it does a great job at immersion. Speaking of interiors, the ship also has a simple gun reticle for aiming the guns which was also very nice.
I also really appreciated the funnel smoke made using rockets, a very nice and creative detail.

    - Build Quality (8/10):

The ship is excellently built, with the creator using quite a few part saving methods which I really appreciated. I could hardly find any places where there could be more parts saved.
Unfortunately, the builder didn't carefully test the ship before publishing, which led to mistakes being left in, such as the missing operation manual, the random AGs on the torpedoes or the stuck tertiary cannons.

    - Performance (17/20):

The vessel handles very nicely overall, and while it has a bit of a rough launch on the ocean mod, after it settles, it sails well on it.
Steering is very smooth and thanks to the addition of a wave dampening system, the ship even slightly rolls during sharp turns which was nice to see
Unfortunately, the build seems to exceed the maximum speed of the real ship by a lot, which is not very accurate.
The weaponry is rather easy and fun to use as well, minus the stuck cannons that occasionally blow up the ship.

    - Description and Information (10/15):

The description lacks any screenshots or photos but has an okay length overall, the screnshots would have made it better tho both in terms of look and length. The inclusion of the controls in the descirption would have also been useful, that way the entry wouldnt have lost points for that.

    Additional Points (-0, +2):

    +2 for the funnel smoke
