Japan received a license production permit for the F-15 JX Eagle II. Based on the Boeing F-15 EX Eagle II made in the United States, the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force JASDF needs a new variant of the F-15 like that of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU). The version wants to be an improved version of the existing F-15 design from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Kawasaki. Design improvements such as a more capable aircraft structure, relatively better weight than its predecessor variant, new engines, the latest radar and avionics with a maximum range of 360 km. This aircraft also uses the latest electronic warfare system and uses artificial intelligence (AI) in the digital cockpit which can detect targets automatically and ease the pilot's work, and can track aircraft without using manual detection.
