USER MANUAL

CONTROLS

Trim: Master Control
Landing Gear: Reverser Switch
AG6: Switch Forward/Reverse Lights
AG7: Marker Lights

MASTER CONTROL

This train uses one-handed operation, where a single lever is used to control the brakes and motors. Note that pushing the lever forwards applies the brakes - the direction of movement may be the opposite of what is expected.

There are six levels of service brakes and five levels of motor power. In addition, with the lever in the holding brake position, the train will maintain its speed (to a certain extent) during descents.

  • 8/8 forward: emergency brake (red light)
  • 7/8 forward: brake level 6 (orange lights)
  • ...
  • 2/8 forward: brake level 1 (orange lights)
  • 1/8 forward: holding brake (yellow light)
  • Neutral (green light)
  • 1/6 backward: power level 1 (blue lights)
  • ...
  • 5/6 backward: power level 5 (blue lights)
  • 6/6 backward: no additional actions

DEV NOTES

Somewhat simple train after a break, during which I visited at least one railway museum. This train is compatible with SPR and (with some cheating) it can actually go around the switches this time. I only made a two-car formation as the part count was getting high.

Operation is based on the train simulator called TRAIN CREW. The performance, equipment, and passenger amenities are supposed to be identical to the Kintetsu 22000, but with viewing areas behind the control rooms. The only part with an interior is the control room on one end, which allows me to build a better body without too much lag. Don't look too closely as I don't know how to make the stuff that goes under the trains.

BACKGROUND

The Nagatetsu Series 11000 is a limited express EMU that runs on the Nagatetsu Ise Bayshore Line. Built by the Shima Railway Plant, it is the first new limited express train operated by the company, and would mark the beginning of Nagatetsu Railway's plan to replace its large, aging fleet of prewar trains. The company would operate four-car and two-car trains on their limited express service between Nagoya and Shima.

Various drag reduction measures were tested on the body of the train, and Nagatetsu Railway states that the Series 11000 reduces energy losses due to drag by 1% compared to other trains on the same service.
