After a lot of hours of work its done! I am proud of it and put most of my free time designing and building it. As most of you might this is Toothless, a Nightfury dragon from the How to train your dragon film. For the ones who don't know the movie, go watch the film, its an amazing masterpiece.

Controls:

Throttle to walk/fly

Roll to roll/steer

Pitch to pitch

Pitch up+AC1 to takeoff ((activates wings) unfolds wings) +disable gyro NR1

AC2 to go to angry mode, it aslo activates the plasma lazer

LandingGear to retract legs (disables walking) + disable gyro nr2

FireGuns to open mouth (teeth extend on angry mode)

Has a slight aim-assist in the head

Flyingspeed: ~1000 mph

Walkingspeed: ~60/70 mph

You should place an entry into the VR challenge. They've extended it for a week. If not this one one of your others, They are great!

@SupremeDorian that’s pretty cool, neat that the filmmakers actually thought to include that

@AWESOMENESS360 Sorry for the late response, I haven't checked this site too often lately, but here's the video. Look at about 0:12

where is the iconic plasma breath?

Yeah but I was hoping for something new, yknow like something that uses more of the physics of an actual snake when you make the ornithopters, you use the same physics as birds and stuff do, so why not try friction blocks or something? I mean, I’d work on it but I’m such a detail-attentive person when it comes to reptiles (I’m too much of a reptile guy) that I’ll be bothered if I can’t get the snake body right. Collab?

@Werboithescientist the snake mechanism is not mutch different of the fish mechanism, just put wheels on the belly and use the fishtail-rotator it will work. I have a few prototypes and it works.

The teeth doesn’t seem to want to work on mobile because of our control limitations (can’t use Fireguns unless said guns are activated) and the wings glitch and become a weird glitchy hurricane/unnatural disaster at about 1000-1100 mph, but otherwise, I like this build a lot. Would it be too much to ask, however, if you could make a snake (like a Saharan sand boa or a Flying Snake (which exist)). I mean, you have worked on walking mechanisms for a year and a half, and you have made realistic and near-realistic mouth mechanisms and working ornithopters and swimming mechanisms, but could you make a slither mechanism!?! One that doesn’t just slither to look good, but actually slithers with mechanics of a real Danger noodle? HRMMM!?!

@SupremeDorian oh cool, would you mind linking a vid of the scene? (I tried looking after seeing the comment and nothing relevant appeared)

@AWESOMENESS360 On the intro to the old Cartoon Network series you could briefly see a shock diamond while he's in level flight, so he's definitely capable of it. I'm assuming he just doesn't do it very much because it isn't practical at all

@SupremeDorian I think he reaches those speeds while diving, as apparent in the final battle scene of the first movie. During level flight I imagine he’s only going 300-400mph, maybe even 500 if he’s really overworking himself. It even says on Google if you search up his top speed, and it actually does tell you; 448m/s, or roughly 1,002mph. It also begs the question of how Hiccup even stays on Toothless while he’s performing highly agile maneuvers at high speeds, let alone endure the high G-Forces that have to be acting on both of them. He’s seen to make turns at incredibly high speeds that are tighter than something like an F-16’s turn radius, so it all seems rather confusing when you realize what kind of physics have to be going on while stuff happens lol. Then again it’s just a movie, so does it really matter in the end?

@EkronAircraftCompany I mean, in the movie universe he's supposed to be able to break the sound barrier (don't ask how that works, I have no idea) so maybe
